"Sasuke, you actually awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan?!"
On the training field, Naruto Uzumaki stared at Uchiha Sasuke in shock.
Those crimson eyes, now marked with the unique tomoe of the Mangekyō, glowed with a strange and ominous aura.
Sasuke gave a smug snort and pointed at his own eyes.
"Naruto, if you ever run into something you can't handle, just come to me. With the power I have now, there's nothing I can't do."
"Tch."
"Come on, tell me—how did your eyes suddenly evolve into the Mangekyō Sharingan?"
Sasuke, noticing Naruto's curiosity, explained, "Lord Mirai personally helped me awaken it."
"Well? Jealous yet?"
Naruto rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed.
"My dad promised me I'd be signing a summoning contract with the toads of Mount Myōboku soon. I'll be learning Sage Jutsu there."
"He also said Mirai-san would teach me a powerful forbidden Wind Style technique."
"Once I master Sage Mode and that jutsu, you won't stand a chance."
Sasuke replied coolly, "Then we'll just see when the time comes."
Haruno Sakura, listening to their back-and-forth, couldn't help but gaze at them with envy.
She wanted to learn powerful jutsu too—but she didn't have the opportunity.
So what if she was the top student at the academy?
In the real world, strength and connections meant everything.
Without a solid foundation, she'd never catch up to them.
She'd love to ask Lord Mirai for guidance as well—but with her status, even seeing him once would be a miracle. As for receiving personal training? That was just a fantasy.
...
Not long after, Kakashi Hatake appeared in front of the trio.
"Today's mission is to drive out a pack of wild beasts."
"Some wolves have wandered down from the mountains. We need to take care of it."
...
"Amaterasu!"
Even with blood tears trickling from the corners of his eyes, Sasuke still looked excited.
Kakashi couldn't help but warn him, "Sasuke, using the Mangekyō drains your eye power—once it's gone, it doesn't come back. If you overuse it, you could go blind."
"They're just some wolves. You didn't need to go that far."
Sasuke replied calmly, "Don't worry about it, Kakashi."
"Soon, I'll be transplanting Uchiha Fugaku's eyes. Once I do, my Sharingan will evolve again—into the Eternal Mangekyō."
"This bit of eye strain is nothing."
Kakashi knew Sasuke was in full edge-mode again. If a dog walked past, it'd probably get hit with Amaterasu too.
But since he wasn't risking blindness, there was no point arguing.
Nearby, Naruto couldn't help but shout, "Damn it! I really need to train more. I can't let Sasuke get ahead of me like this..."
After the mission was done, Kakashi suggested grabbing some barbecue.
Naruto and Sasuke agreed immediately. Only Sakura shook her head.
"Sorry, Kakashi-sensei. I've got some things to take care of at home. I'll pass this time."
"Thanks anyway. See you."
As she walked away, Naruto scratched his head. "Weird. Has Sakura been acting quiet lately?"
Sasuke scoffed. "Compared to you, everyone's quiet."
"What the hell's that supposed to mean?"
"I'm saying you're a chatterbox. Don't get it? Typical idiot."
"You're dead! Rasengan!"
"Amaterasu—"
"You two, knock it off!" Kakashi jumped between them with a sigh.
These two were at the peak of their teenage drama—full of confidence and raw power.
What a handful.
And then there was Sakura...
If things kept going like this, Team Seven would fall apart.
No. He had to do something about it.
...
"So you want me to help Sakura?"
Uchiha Mirai raised an eyebrow at the unexpected request.
Kakashi nodded. "Yeah. She's falling further and further behind her teammates. I'm worried it'll start affecting her mentally."
Mirai took a sip of tea and said slowly, "Aren't you her teacher? Shouldn't this be your headache?"
Kakashi sighed. "You know I'm no good at this kind of thing."
"Come on, Mirai. Do me a favor."
Mirai stroked his chin, thinking for a moment before finally saying, "If I remember correctly, this batch of genin will be coming of age in two years, right?"
"Tell Sakura that after she graduates from her squad, I'll help her get stronger."
Unlike the original system, under Mirai's reforms, ninja continued working in three-person squads under a jōnin mentor even after graduating the academy.
They stayed that way until they turned eighteen, at which point the teams would disband and everyone would go their separate ways—kind of like graduating from university.
Hearing Mirai's promise, Kakashi broke into a genuine smile.
Sure, it was two years away—but who cared?
This kind of opportunity was more than most people could ever dream of.
He was sure that once Sakura heard the news, she'd be over the moon.
With that thought, Kakashi said his goodbyes and quickly left.
He couldn't wait to share the good news.
After he left, Mirai's lips curved into a subtle smile.
He'd never cared much for young Sakura.
But grown-up Sakura? Now that was different.
Even if Kakashi hadn't come to him, Mirai wouldn't have let her slip by.
After all, as the saying goes—
Good girls shouldn't be missed, and bad girls shouldn't be spared.
And Mirai's policy?
No one slips through the net.
...
"Kakashi-sensei... Are you serious?!"
Sakura's voice practically doubled in volume as she stared at him, wide-eyed.
Kakashi winced and covered his ears. "Yeah, yeah... For this, I actually had to go ask that guy for a favor for the first time."
"So you don't need to feel jealous of Naruto and Sasuke. In two years, you'll get the same treatment."
Sakura nodded eagerly. "Got it, Kakashi-sensei!"
"I'll be going now!"
Once Kakashi left, she clutched her chest tightly with both hands.
She was afraid her heart might literally leap out of her body.
She was just a powerless, ordinary civilian girl.
And yet—she was going to be trained by the Emperor himself?!
If word got out, people would be stunned!
