On the way back to school, both of them became silent.
It felt as though something had formed a barrier between them, and the emotions that had just started to warm up seemed to have returned overnight to the starting point.
Sheng Ting dropped Shen Weiyi off under her dormitory building and told her, "Go on up!"
Shen Weiyi opened her mouth but ultimately said nothing.
Sheng Ting watched her walk into the dormitory building, then finally turned and left.
