Lynception

Epilogue

Amara's Awakening{Reference to Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening}

The phone was ringing. Amara stood outside of the telephone box as she had been at the end of Lynception AKT I, before all of this began. She blinked. She looked left and right in confusion.

"(Amara, is that you)?" Donna's muffled voice asked through the lowered phone.

She looked like there was something or someone she was missing. She narrowed her eyes, and placed her hand on her chin.

"AMARA!" Adolpha called out.

Jumping, she put the phone to her ear, "Y-yes boss,"

"Your lucky we take the time out of our days to call you, ya know. Your not being very grateful to us,"

"Sorry boss,"

"I mean really, have you said thank you even once, for our hiring you and giving you so many chances,"

Her eye twitched, "Yes boss, I've said thankya-,"

"Oh you've said 'thankya' like some kind of Sludge Rat, but where's the effort. If you were really thankful, you'd learn to talk like a civilized person,"

She closed her fist, her face turning red, "I see, I'll keep that in mind ffffor next time,"

"You say that every time. I've brought it up to you so many times, you sound like complete gibberish,"

"Now now, Donna, you don't need to bully the poor girl. Lets focus on the most important part: your papier on the preparations for the War over the new Gate was incredibly bare bones,"

"Sorry boss, they wouldn't answer questions,"

"And whose fault was that? If you hadn't kept badgering them about wanting to speak with Jadeite Drescher, and instead furthered your career proper, you would be much further along,"

"Hey, I got a lot from that investigation,"

"You got an interview with a receptionist. No one cares about the perspective of a receptionist,"

"I disagree-," she responded, steam starting to bleed out her ears.

"Disagree?! Did you think some receptionist who slept her way into her job had anything of note-?!"

She snapped, "I quit,"

"What was that?"

"I quit,"

"Think a second before you fuckin-,"

"I quit," she stated, hanging up.

She walked out of the telephone box. She walked away, the box jumped around angrily, muttering and sputtering.

...…

She rushed back to the Queenless Cafe. Armina and Arturia weren't there anymore, but Arnold still was. He sat in bliss, reading a book and drinking a coffee with cream on top.

"Arnold," she exclaimed, skipping over to him.

"Oh, yer back so soon," He exclaimed nervously.

She clasped her hands together over her head and bowed down, "Sorry 'bout earlier, I was way out of line,"

"Um…thanks," he blinked. "Didja hit yer head'r'somethin'?"

"It certainly feels like it," She chuckled, scratching the back of her head, a big smile on her blushing face.

"Ya should prolly get that looked at," he remarked, taking a big drink.

"OH!" She exclaimed, jumping and snapping her fingers(making him spill his coffee). "'Re ya still lookin' fer some extra money?"

He cleaned up the spill with his already soaked napkin, "What d'ya have in mind?"

"I need a strong feller to help me pack,"

"Huh?" he exclaimed.

She tossed him a key, "Catch up without me, I'll see ya in a bit,"

She dashed out of the cafe. Arnold looked on it confusion.

He chuckled, "Maybe its time to finally file for devarce…divorce(maybe I should retake school too…no, that's a terrible idea),"

...…

Amara dashed down the street. It wasn't long before she stopped, out of breath. She took deep breaths, her hands on her knees, her face looking down.

"...I really…should get…more exercise,"

"Amara," a familiar voice called out.

Standing before her was a young brunette with short hair and a bow in her hair. She was wearing a medical mask and a women's suit. She looked at her in surprise.

"Oh, oy Bow," Amara exclaimed, standing up straight.

"Bow?!" she laughed, hands on her hips. "Is that really how ya 'member me?"

"Uh…sorry, its been a few years since school,"

"We're barely in 'r dang 20s yet," she poked. "How'ya doin'?"

Amara looked up. The sky was actually visible for once. She smiled.

"Ya know, I think I'm gonna be mighty alright," she stated, looking bow in the eyes. "How'ya doin' yerself?"

"Doin' fine ma self," she shrugged.

Her eyes widened, "Oh, I gotta get to work, nice catchin' up with ya,"

She ran off, waving back at her. Amara waved back.

"Nice catchin' up with ya too!" she called back.

Amara turned. Having taken her breath, she returned to her run, looking up at the beautiful sky. She looked even further, at the horizon, where the sky was clear.
