Liliana smiled gently. "Then maybe there is still hope left. But this would not be easy."
"It never is," Olivia murmured, brushing her fingers across the grass absently. Her eyes lifted to Damon, who had remained quiet. "What are you thinking about?" she asked softly. Damon looked at her and sighed.
Damon pushed away from the tree trunk, his expression had a hint of gloominess as he thought about it. "Olivia, you are right. The incident did not look that simple. If the witches had saved the kids, why would someone still burn them? It would be better that we look into it," he said finally, his voice low but firm.
"There has to be a record or at least a name of the witch who was burned last. If someone sets her up I want to know."
Olivia looked at him with a mix of gratitude and unease. "Do you really think we can find anything after all this time?"
