3rd POV
"GEORGIE!"
Bobbi sprinted toward Georgie, her face lit with excitement.
Missy, seeing Bobbi running at them, immediately clung to Georgie, as if silently declaring that he belonged to her.
Sheldon, on the other hand, wanted nothing to do with this battle. Especially if it meant dealing with Bobbi.
Without needing to be told, he slowly moved away—strategically hiding behind Mary. Billy, meanwhile, also ran toward them—but not to Georgie.
He ran straight to Sheldon, "Hey, Sheldon!" Billy greeted him with a big smile.
"…Hello, Billy Sparks." Sheldon replied in a small voice.
Billy tilted his head. "Why are you whispering?"
Sheldon scowled. He did not want to attract Bobbi's attention. "Nothing…" he muttered—again, in an even quieter voice.
Mary, watching the scene, finally spoke up, "…Why are you standing behind me, honey?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at Sheldon.
"I said nothing," Sheldon repeated stubbornly.
Mary's lips twitched, barely holding back a laugh. Then, she turned to Bobbi—who had already taken Sheldon's seat.
Bobbi, still smiling, looked at Missy, "What are you doing, Georgie?" she asked.
But her eyes remained locked on Missy.
"You two are still fighting, huh?" Georgie sighed, glancing between them.
Neither of them answered.
Missy just tightened her grip on Georgie's shirt.
Bobbi, not backing down, grabbed his shirt, too.
"Here, George."
Herschel handed George a can of beer while glancing toward the offset smoker.
"Brisket, huh? You better share some with us later!" Herschel said.
George grinned. "Of course. But I need to taste-test it first—this is a new recipe."
He pointed toward Georgie, who was currently being sandwiched between two feuding little girls.
"This is Georgie's recipe."
Connie snorted. "Yeah, right." she muttered sarcastically.
Brenda, who had just arrived, overheard and frowned, "Why? What's wrong? Is it bad?" she asked, looking at Connie.
Mary chuckled and pulled Sheldon closer to her, "I think it's a good recipe. Georgie managed to recreate Mom's brisket," she said.
Brenda's eyes widened.
She knew exactly how famous Connie's brisket recipe was—especially how highly George praised it.
She turned to Georgie, who was still busy dealing with Bobbi and Missy. Then, she looked at Herschel, who was chatting with George.
"Well, that's interesting," she murmured, "Now I definitely want to try it."
Connie grumbled, sipping her beer.
Her gaze landed on Georgie—who was grinning and laughing as Missy and Bobbi bickered with each other.
"Hey, George," Herschel called out, glancing at his friend's shirt, "…What's that on your shirt?"
George blinked. "Oh, this?"
A big grin spread across his face.
"It's an autograph." he said casually.
But he didn't say whose autograph it was. Instead, he let Herschel figure it out for himself.
Mary and Connie rolled their eyes, "What?" George asked and shrugged his shoulder.
"Why are you letting people scribble all over your shirt?" Herschel teased, laughing.
He didn't bother reading the signature—he just assumed it was a random autograph.
But Brenda…
She squinted at the writing.
Then—her eyes went wide.
Her gaze snapped to George.
"…GEORGE S.!?"
Brenda screeched, grabbing George's shirt to get a closer look.
"He—hey!" George yelped, caught off guard.
Herschel, hearing that name, froze. Then, he rushed over—his eyes scanning the autograph.
"WHAT?!" Herschel shouted, staring at George like he had just seen a ghost.
George groaned.
Mary crossed her arms.
While she understood Brenda's excitement, she didn't appreciate another woman touching her husband.
"Hey, I think you should back off now," Mary said, her voice sharp. She gave George a pointed look—handle this.
George sighed, 'Why is this suddenly my fault?'
Of course, he didn't say that out loud—he was too experienced to make that mistake.
"Alright, that's enough," he said, gently pulling himself away from Brenda.
"…How? HOW did you get George S.'s autograph?!", Brenda and Herschel still weren't over it.
Bobbi and Billy, meanwhile, had no idea who George S. was.
They did not care about whatever their parents were freaking out about.
Billy turned to Georgie. "…Why do you have a guitar?"
The Sparks family still didn't know that Georgie was planning to debut as a singer.
He hadn't performed at bars or anywhere yet.
So, to them, this was… strange.
"Well, Billy," Georgie said, grinning, "I'm a singer now."
"Really?"
Billy's tone was unimpressed—though, to be fair, that's just how he always sounded.
But Bobbi?
Bobbi's eyes lit up.
"REALLY?!" she squealed, way more excited.
Before Georgie could respond—
Missy cut in.
With a proud expression, she declared to the world, "Yes! My brother is going to be a star! And I'm going to live in a big house with him!", she turned to Bobbi with a smug look.
Bobbi gritted her teeth after hearing and looking at Missy face. "I'm going to live with Georgie too!"
Missy smirked. "No, you can't!"
Bobbi glared. "YES, I CAN!"
She took a deep breath, "BECAUSE I'M GOING TO MARRY GEORGIE!"
Missy gasped, outraged.
"YOU CAN'T!!!"
Georgie, watching the heated argument escalate, finally stepped in.
"Alright, alright—that's enough!" He said with deep sighing, he looked at Missy.
"Missy, Bobbi is younger than you. You can treat her like a little sister."
Missy huffed, crossing her arms, "Who would want a little sister like her?"
"I don't want to be her little sister!" Bobbi retorted, turning her nose up.
Sheldon sighed, rubbing his temples.
This entire conversation was pointless.
meanwhile, George, had resumed tending to the smoker, "Georgie got an offer to perform with George S.," he announced casually, he tossed another log into the fire.
Brenda and Herschel's jaws dropped.
First, they heard 'George S.'s' name.
Then, they heard 'perform.'
Then, they heard 'with him.'
They turned slowly toward George, "…Wh—what?" Herschel stammered.
Brenda simply nodded, still waiting for an explanation.
"What?" George blinked at them, completely unfazed. He act like this wasn't a big deal.
Connie snorted, "You stupid tubby, of course they're shocked," she scoffed.
Mary sighed, shaking her head. "George, you didn't give them context," she pointed out—though her voice carried a hint of pride.
"Oh, right," George realized. Then, he turned back to Brenda and Herschel.
With a big, smug grin, he declared—
"Georgie is going to be a star!"
"..."
Brenda and Herschel stared at George in frustration.
He still hadn't explained anything properly!
Connie chuckled.
Mary, meanwhile, sighed. She knew George was just being smug.
And honestly?
A small part of her wanted to do the same.
But she held back.
"Georgie and his partner started their own music label." Mary finally clarified to the Sparks family, "And Georgie is their first artist—he'll debut under their company."
Brenda and Herschel's jaws dropped again.
Missy turned to Bobbi with a smug look.
Bobbi, however, wasn't paying any attention to her.
She was staring at Georgie.
Her eyes practically sparkled.
Sheldon—who hadn't even been mentioned—felt an odd sense of pride.
He wouldn't say it out loud, of course.
But deep down, he was proud of Georgie.
Even though Georgie hadn't debuted yet…
Even though he wasn't famous yet…
He was still doing something big.
"Okay." Billy said flatly.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"
Brenda yelled, her eyes darting between the Cooper family members before landing on Georgie—who just gave her an awkward smile.
Herschel, meanwhile, glanced at George.
There was a hint of pride in his eyes.
And maybe… a little jealousy.
"I see now what George S. wrote on your shirt," Herschel muttered before taking a sip of his beer.
"Oh, this?", George smirked, glancing down at the writing, "When we met George S., that bastard wanted to make my son his Godson!"
George snorted, shaking his head.
Silence.
Then—
"WHAT?!"
This time, it wasn't just the Sparks family who was shocked. Mary and Connie also stared, mouths slightly open.
Mary smacked George's arm. "Wh—what?" George winced slightly, raising his hands.
"Hey, I wasn't the one who turned him down—Georgie was!", He immediately pointed at Georgie, throwing him under the bus.
Connie looked at Georgie like he was the dumbest person on earth. "Why didn't you accept?!"
Now, everyone was waiting for an answer.
Georgie rubbed the back of his neck, feeling a bit awkward.
"…Honestly?"
His tone turned serious as he looked at them.
"I didn't want to carry an emotional or moral burden that big."
Some of them blinked.
It wasn't the answer they expected.
"You guys might think it's amazing to be George S.'s Godson," Georgie continued. "But I don't know him."
"And he doesn't know me."
"So why would he want to baptize me just because he liked one of my songs?"
"A song that anyone could have written?"
Silence.
Then—
Awkward chuckling filled the air.
When Georgie put it that way…
Yeah, it did sound kind of ridiculous.
Being George S.'s Godson sounded cool—
But it was also something sacred.
Georgie wasn't going to take it lightly.
"A song?", Billy suddenly spoke up.
His eyes flicked toward Georgie, he had never heard Georgie sing.
To Billy, Georgie was just… well, Georgie.
Billy wasn't dumb.
He was just slow to process things.
Georgie grinned. "Haha, of course!"
Billy's eyes sparkled slightly, "Can I hear it?"
Before Georgie could respond—Brenda cut in, "It's okay, Georgie, you don't have to listen to Billy," she said, sounding a little awkward.
Mary smiled, "It's fine," she assured Georgie, "I've seen his songbook. He's written tons of songs."
Connie suddenly laughed, as if remembering something, "Haha! Yeah! He's written a lot of songs!"
She turned to Georgie, smirking, even raising an eyebrow.
Hearing that and looking at Connie face, Georgie's face twitched.
Uh-oh.
"Even the naughty ones!", Connie teased.
Georgie groaned, glaring at her. Mary just chuckled hearing that.
Honestly?.
Georgie didn't care if they saw his songbook.
But…
Some of those songs were a bit… suggestive.
And maybe… ambiguous.
George shrugged his shoulder.
Honestly?.
He and Mary wasn't surprised.
Georgie was a teenage boy.
And he already knew Georgie was a little naughty.
Porn magazines. Tapes.
Yeah.
This wasn't new information.
Georgie shook it off and turned back to Billy, "What do you want to hear, Billy?"
Billy shrugged, "I don't know."
Georgie smiled, "Hey, Billy," he said, pulling Billy a little closer, "Do you have any dreams for the future?"
Billy hesitated, "…Dreams?"
Sheldon chimed in immediately, "A dream is a rational goal that you create to maximize your intellectual potential."
"For me, my goal is to unravel the secrets of the universe."
"I pursue physics and knowledge."
Georgie smiled before turning to Missy.
"I want to be a psycho-whatever-it's-called!" Missy declared.
Georgie and Sheldon blinked.
"…Psychologist?" Sheldon corrected, "You already know what you want to be?"
Missy shrugged, "I don't know. I like gossip."
Georgie chuckled, "Well, that's good," he said, "I know you two are geniuses, and I know you'll get exactly what you want."
Then, he turned to Bobbi. "I… I want to be pretty," Bobbi admitted.
She still had no idea what she wanted in life, no one had ever asked her before.
Georgie nodded and he didn't comment.
Bobbi was still a kid.
If he hadn't asked Missy earlier, she probably wouldn't have thought about her own dream, either.
Only Sheldon truly knew what he wanted and Missy was still figuring it out what she want to be.
Billy listened to all of them, but he still didn't know what he wanted.
Georgie waited for him to speak.
Meanwhile, the adults were also listening.
Especially the Sparks family.
This was the first time they had ever seen Georgie like this.
They knew the old Georgie.
The immature Georgie.
But this?
Conversations like this?
They had never seen him like this before.
Herschel leaned toward George, whispering.
"What the hell happened to your son?"
He didn't want to interrupt the kids.
Hell, he might even be grateful for what Georgie was doing right now.
"Nothing happened to Georgie," George said, waving it off like it was nothing, "He just changed a little."
Herschel fought the urge to punch him again.
"I…"
Billy finally spoke.
"I like chickens."
Georgie chuckled.
"Oh? Really?"
Then, he leaned in, "Did you know you can hypnotize a chicken?"
Sheldon scoffed.
"Brother, are you lying to the kids again?"
Then—
He immediately regretted his words.
Because Georgie smirked.
"You mean…to you?"
Sheldon grumbled.
Billy ignored Sheldon, his attention was locked on Georgie,"Really?"
"Of course," Georgie said, "How about tomorrow? I'll show you."
Billy shrugged, "Okay."
Herschel chimed in, "Wait—hypnotizing chickens? Really? Can we do that?" He squinted at Georgie and George.
George blinked, "…I have no idea you can do that to a chicken."
