"According to the latest reports, several ice sheets in the Arctic suddenly reappeared overnight a week ago. Glaciers that had previously melted also resurfaced one after another. This abnormal phenomenon is baffling and inexplicable. Experts are currently on their way to investigate the cause, while some religious groups have proclaimed it a miracle, calling it a gift from God."

A gift from God?

As he ate breakfast, Clark glanced at Mike, who was packing lunch for Gwen to take to school, and couldn't help but curl his lips into a smirk.

If it was a miracle, then did that make his father… God?

People really are amusing—good things are called miracles, and bad things are seen as divine punishment.

As for those experts, hopefully they won't lose their hair out of frustration just because they can't figure it out.

That day, after the battle between father and son, his old man—yes, that middle-aged guy currently making roujiamo—used a new power. Not only did he restore the environment they had damaged during the fight, but on a whim, he flew around creating glaciers and ice fields, significantly helping to restore the Arctic, which had suffered for years from the greenhouse effect.

He really deserves a medal for environmental protection.

Clark couldn't help but grumble to himself as he habitually pressed his chest. He paused for a second, then shook his head with a smile.

He had handed the key over to Mike for safekeeping. As for the spaceship, before they left, they had refrozen it beneath the ice and activated its cloaking function.

As long as the glacier wasn't disturbed or directly exposed, the spaceship shouldn't be discovered.

"Big Brother!"

Gwen, now dressed and yawning, came down the stairs and gave Clark a hug.

Clark kissed her on the cheek, adjusted her collar, and said, "How about I pick you up after school today?"

His voice was as gentle as a spring breeze, completely different from how he usually spoke to Erik and the others.

"No need!" Gwen shook her head and said, "I'm a big girl now. I can take the school bus home myself."

Clark gently patted her head and said, "If anything happens, you have to tell your brother, okay?"

"Mm-hmm!"

Gwen nodded and smiled brightly before running off to the kitchen. Seeing the roujiamo Mike was preparing, she swallowed and asked, "Daddy, how did you know I wanted this?"

Mike smiled and said, "Because I'm your dad."

Last night, this little rascal was even mumbling about roujiamo in her sleep.

"Ehehe!"

Gwen giggled, carried her breakfast to the dining table, and looked at Clark, who was dressed sharply in a suit. "Big Brother, are you going to an interview today?"

"Yeah."

"Good luck with your interview!"

Gwen raised her hand.

Clap!

Clark high-fived her and said, "Once I land the job, I'll take you out for something delicious."

"Mm-hmm!"

As she ate her sandwich, Gwen nodded enthusiastically. Her eyes darted mischievously, and she whispered to Clark, "I want candy—all kinds of candy."

Clark flicked her forehead and said, "I'm not trying to get spanked by Dad."

"Bleh!" Gwen stuck out her tongue. "Scaredy-cat!"

Scaredy-cat?

You really have no idea how terrifying Dad can be!

He remembered one time when the three brothers didn't finish their homework. Their dad actually used some sort of Tsukuyomi-like power to make them write nonstop for a full day and night.

Just thinking about it still gave him chills.

"What are you two whispering about?"

Mike came out holding a lunch box. After stuffing it into Gwen's backpack, he looked curiously at the two.

"Nothing."

Gwen shook her head.

Mike glanced at them suspiciously, then asked Clark, "Where's your interview today?"

"At the newspaper," Clark replied with a smile. "After all these years on the road, I've gotten pretty good at taking photos."

In his room, there was a box full of photos he had mailed back over the years. They were all shots he'd taken during his travels. Mike had sorted and preserved every single one of them.

Looking at them now, they were full of memories.

"I'm full!"

After finishing her milk, Gwen grabbed her backpack and headed for the door.

"Wait up, I'll go with you."

Clark picked up his suit jacket from the side and followed Gwen out.

Watching their backs as they left, Mike smiled warmly.

The house was lively again.

If only Erik and Charles could come back too…

But thinking about what those two were up to now—

It would probably still be a long time before they returned. Still, Mike figured he should find a chance to tell them that Clark was back.

Shaking his head, Mike leisurely continued his breakfast while turning on the news.

With Gwen going to school and Clark job hunting, maybe he should find something to do for himself too?

Mike muttered thoughtfully, "I'll ask them for suggestions when they get back."

After finishing breakfast and tidying up the dishes, Mike, feeling bored at home, decided to pass the time with some online gaming. Just as he was settling in, the doorbell rang.

Who could it be at this hour?

Curious, Mike walked to the door. When he opened it and saw the couple standing outside, he froze for a moment—then broke into a smile.

Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers.

Seeing the two of them arm-in-arm, and just as they were about to greet him, Mike couldn't help but say, "Peggy, you brought your grandson over for a visit?"

Steve's face stiffened, and Peggy Carter, stunned for a second, suddenly let go of Steve's arm, grabbed her purse, and started whacking Mike while shouting angrily, "You're the grandson, you jerk!"

Mike backed away, pointing at Steve and shouting, "Quick, stop your grandma!"

"You still dare to talk!"

Peggy Carter chased after Mike, hitting him wildly.

Steve couldn't help but smile at the scene. Any tension or awkwardness he'd felt instantly vanished.

These two clearly had a great relationship.

He sighed inwardly, his face softening as he looked at Peggy Carter with eyes full of affection.

She was a wonderful woman. Even though she now had a head of white hair, in his eyes, she was still the proud and beautiful English rose he remembered.

While for him, it felt like he had only taken a nap, waking to a world that had changed completely, Peggy Carter had spent decades enduring the pain of waiting.

He had gone to sleep prepared to die—but she had waited, day after day, year after year.

Every time he thought about how his Peggy had spent all those years missing him, his heart couldn't help but tremble.

So how could he ever dislike the Peggy Carter standing before him now?

"Huff… huff…"

Peggy Carter rested her hands on her knees, panting angrily as she glared at Mike. Mike pointed at Steve by the door and said, "Tsk, Steve's in for it from now on."

Peggy let out a soft snort, then turned to Steve. Seeing him looking at her so tenderly, her face flushed slightly. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Because I plan to make up for the decades we lost."
