Lucas frowned at his wife's response. He glanced around, and it was true, some visitors were sneaking glances in their direction. Maybe it was because of Haisley's appearance, wearing pajamas with a blazer draped over her shoulders, or perhaps because Lucas was someone well-known in the media.
But Lucas quickly turned his gaze back to his wife. "Why should you care about their stares? Let them look. They have eyes, they're free to use them. But they're not living your life. They're not the ones providing for you. They don't know what you're feeling."
He leaned closer, looking at his wife with eyes that were gentle yet firm. "From now on, just look at me. Ignore the noise of the world. I want you to be happy, Haisley. And today, I want you to feel worthy."
