Chapter 302 - Chapter 302: No Dodging

The lightning came so suddenly that it startled the fat guy in the tower, making him tumble, his heart racing wildly.

"Why is it suddenly thundering and lightning?"

Yajirobe was flipped upside down, and his loincloth was exposed.

Even Korin was shocked, pulling out two strands of his beard in surprise.

The lightning, like a wriggling dragon, roared down!

Goku jumped in shock and hurriedly jumped aside, but he was still grazed by the lightning, burning off half of his clothes.

As for Yamiru…

He was the first to notice the rapidly gathering lightning in the sky, and he saw the bolt of lightning descending, but he didn't dodge.

It was as if, just like you wouldn't jump back in surprise at seeing the Flying Nimbus, Yamiru didn't sense any danger from the lightning.

"Yamiru!"

Goku exclaimed in shock as he saw Yamiru struck directly by the massive lightning bolt, as thick as a barrel!

Goku rushed over to rescue Yamiru, but as soon as he touched the lightning, he was shocked and screamed, his hair and tail frizzing up. "Ugh..." Goku growled, gritting his teeth through the electric shock. His face twisted in pain as he reached out, wanting to pull Yamiru out from the lightning.

Bang!

Goku was blasted away by the lightning, his body scorched and emitting steam and white smoke.

"Damn..."

Goku wiped his face, leaving a stark white mark on his otherwise blackened face. Reluctantly, he tried to get up again, preparing to rush over and save Yamiru.

"Don't be impulsive!"

A voice sounded in his mind.

Goku slammed on the brakes, looking around, shaking his head and asking, "Who's speaking?"

"It's me, Korin! I'm speaking to you with my mind." The voice from within his mind came from Korin, who was observing from inside the tower. "Don't worry, Yamiru's energy is very steady. It seems… the lightning didn't harm him."

"Really?" Goku was shocked.

"Take a closer look, the lightning didn't even break through the cloud layer of the Flying Nimbus!" Korin reminded. Sure enough, the lightning surged and enveloped Yamiru, showing its fierce power, but it didn't break through the golden cloud layer beneath them, which wasn't particularly solid in theory. It simply dissolved like it was absorbed into the earth.

In a golden world, Yamiru opened his eyes, gazing at the vast land.

Suddenly, he had a premonition and stepped sideways.

Where he had been standing, a bolt of lightning struck at lightning speed, hitting the ground and leaving behind a scorched mark with swirling smoke.

Yamiru looked up at the sky—there weren't even any clouds, so where did the lightning come from?

At that moment, he had another premonition, turned, and jumped, narrowly avoiding another horizontal lightning strike.

There were indeed no clouds! However, this time, Yamiru saw the source of the lightning—it was a being who looked like a Namekian.

It wasn't lightning at all, but rather, was this person's ki technique?

It seemed that, realizing he had been noticed, the Namekian-like figure decided to stop hiding and rapidly flew toward Yamiru.

He swung a fist at Yamiru.

Yamiru slightly sidestepped to avoid it.

The Namekian's next strike followed closely behind.

Yamiru was puzzled but smoothly continued to dodge, his movements simple and quick, as if he already knew the path of the Namekian's attacks, making his evasions highly efficient.

"This person's attacks… his energy is very obvious, but both the strength and speed are at the limit of what I can handle. It seems like it's controlled on purpose?"

A hint of doubt flashed through Yamiru's mind, but it didn't stop him from dodging the Namekian's continuous attacks.

"Since you want to play, I'll play along!"

Yamiru focused all his attention. The Namekian seemed to sense Yamiru's fighting spirit and, without realizing it, accelerated his attacks, using even more powerful force.

"This person is definitely suppressing his battle power..."

Yamiru could clearly feel that while the opponent's techniques were still at the same level, not higher than his own, the real strength and speed were slowly increasing.

The punches that Yamiru could easily dodge before were now becoming more difficult to avoid. Even when dodging, the wind from the passing punches stung his skin.

Even through his ki perception, it was becoming harder to track the opponent's movements and the path of the punches.

The "signs" when the opponent was about to punch, and the "unnecessary movements", Yamiru could still perceive from the ki, but despite this, the moment he sensed it, the opponent would deliver the attack at an incredibly high speed. So what use was his perception?

In the Dragon Ball world, it was indeed possible to defeat a stronger opponent with a weaker one, but there was always a limit. It wasn't like your martial arts realm could let you fight with a power level of 100 and defeat one with a power level of 100 million—that was impossible and unreasonable.

Just as Yamiru was starting to struggle, someone spoke to stop them: "Alright, Porunga, that's enough."

The "Namekian" indeed stopped and slightly bowed toward the direction behind Yamiru, respectfully saying, "Yes, ancestor."

Yamiru also stopped moving and looked back. As expected, it was the Dragon God speaking.

But… Porunga?

Yamiru glanced at the "Namekian" he had been sparring with for a while and thought to himself: Is he like the Dragon Ball counterpart, Dorag, responsible for the Namekian Dragon Balls and the Dragon Clan of the Dragon Realm?

Noticing Yamiru's gaze, Porunga, whose physique was even more robust than Dorag's, nodded slightly at him and praised, "You're quite impressive, Earthling from across the entire realm."

Yamiru didn't modestly respond with words like "It's nothing", "You're too kind", or "It's nothing special".

His current martial arts realm was indeed very impressive.

Not everyone could reach this level.

To calmly acknowledge his own greatness was, in a sense, a symbol of a pure heart. Because it was the truth, and admitting the truth didn't require extra labels. That's why when Super Saiyan Goku walked out of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and faced Vegeta's question, "Do you think you're stronger than me?" he calmly nodded and said, "Yes, I'm already much stronger than you."

Yamiru's demeanor, which showed no agitation or pride, surprised Porunga. He looked at Yamiru deeply, said nothing more, and left the temporary space created by the Dragon God.

"Come, sit."

The Dragon God patted the ground beside him, signaling for Yamiru to come over.

Yamiru sat down, curious, and asked, "Is Porunga the test you mentioned?"

Clearly, the lightning that fell from the Korin Tower struck him, but it had no effect. It seemed to have little to do with the test the Dragon God had spoken of… but Porunga? Yamiru didn't think there was much difficulty in the sparring session he had just had…

In response to his question, the Dragon God only smiled and said, "Porunga just wanted to come see you, kid. Don't mind him."

"As for the test… actually, based on what I said to you earlier, you can probably understand. If the lightning hadn't appeared, you wouldn't be worth mentioning. But since it did, you're already worth mentioning. If you're asking where the test was…"

The Dragon God stroked his beard and unexpectedly looked at Yamiru, saying, "You were the first to notice the lightning, but you stood still and didn't dodge. That in itself makes me view you with even more respect."
