Chapter 318 - Chapter 318: Journey To The West

On this land, ravaged by demons for centuries, a story of a human female hero is told.

It is said that over twenty years ago, in a small survivor village in the East, a woman named Annin was born.

Many people say that on the day she was born, a massive, radiant cauldron descended from the sky and landed in the village's open space.

The cauldron was several men tall, and even the strongest man in the village couldn't budge it by an inch.

Legend has it that when Annin was three years old, she effortlessly lifted the giant cauldron in front of the whole village, leaving everyone stunned, speechless.

From that day on, the village worshiped her as a goddess.

The legend continues that by the age of five, Annin personally killed a demon, and by the age of nine, she had wiped out a demon lair in a mountain cave. At thirteen, she single-handedly infiltrated a kingdom long conquered by demons, eradicated all the demons, and freed the remaining humans who had been enslaved, offering them freedom…

In the end, however, the humans liberated by Annin in that kingdom all chose to follow her and serve the heroic woman.

Annin's name spread far and wide.

Her followers grew more numerous.

Among them were well-trained soldiers, martial artists with extraordinary skills, and even some reclusive masters whose names were not known to many. Slowly, they all gathered under the banner of Annin.

In this era, killing demons and seeking light was the lifelong pursuit of countless aspirants.

With Annin at its core, these brightest human souls came together.

Before them, especially in front of the heroic woman, all the demons they encountered were no match.

However, everyone knew that the most formidable demons were the six demon kings.

As long as those six demon kings were alive, the demons of the world could never be completely wiped out.

Naturally, everyone suggested to Annin that they go and kill the six demon kings. It was the only way to save the world.

No one knew if Annin had the strength to defeat the six demon kings.

Just like no one knew why, upon hearing such a proposal, she neither showed surprise nor opposition. She merely glanced at all the people gathered around her and nodded in agreement.

And what truly no one knew was what happened after Annin led her followers to the domain of one of the six demon kings…

Gradually, some survivors from different regions heard of this story and gathered together, hoping to find out the truth.

Had one of the six demon kings been killed?

What about the heroic woman, Annin?

What happened to the others—did they live or die?

The human man killed by the poisonous mist from the demons was one of the volunteers hoping to follow in Annin's footsteps. Before encountering Yamiru and the poison mist, he and his companions had scattered to gather information. Unfortunately, he was injured while being chased by wild beasts, and in the end...

Finally, Yamiru slowly opened his eyes.

It seemed like he was on a bumpy surface, possibly a cart, and his hands and feet were tied...

However, Yamiru didn't care about these details at the moment. The moment he saw the dim sky, he quietly felt a sense of relief.

The feeling of being alive... it was so good.

Yamiru silently thought to himself, "Tights, I will definitely return home."

Since he was still alive and no longer felt the pain of the poison, Yamiru instantly confirmed that during his time of unconsciousness, the Dragon God of this era must have come to him, or at least brought his poisoned, near-death body to the Dragon Realm! That was why he was saved.

"Indeed, although the Spiritual realm doesn't exist in this era, repeatedly using the methods of entering the Spiritual realm can alert the actual creator of the Spiritual realm, the Dragon God. With his personality, once he's noticed something, there's a great chance he'll take action to save me..."

"Don't know if I really die this time, whether I'll have the right to have a body in the Other World?"

"Will I go to hell or heaven? Probably hell, after all, it seems I died with demon skin…"

"But, will I die in this era's Other World, or in the one from my original era?"

Having narrowly escaped death, even now, Yamiru couldn't help but feel a bit sentimental. While staring at the dim sky, deep in thought, he suddenly tilted his head to the side without warning.

Swish—one foot grazed past him, ruffling his black hair.

Immediately after, a sound of someone falling to the ground was heard, followed by, "Ouch!"

It was only then that Yamiru had the mood to observe his surroundings.

Upon waking up, he immediately sensed that for some reason, he was among a group of around several dozen people, all heading in the same direction.

That was the direction of righteousness! Yamiru immediately recognized it.

Of course, it was also the direction of the Demon King's aura, the place where Samuel, as mentioned by Maliza, was.

As for Yamiru himself…

He lowered his head and noticed that the dragon mark on his body had faded significantly. No wonder it felt like there was much less demonic energy inside him. Or rather, it was because the demonic energy had decreased so much that the demonized features of Yamiru had also greatly diminished. Did the Dragon God help dispel it? Or was it because of the coma, and it naturally dissipated? Yamiru speculated in his mind.

His torso was wrapped in iron chains, and his hands were tied behind his back, his whole body bound to something resembling a cart.

Without turning around, Yamiru could sense that the one pulling this "cart" was some kind of beast-like presence…

"Did the companion of the person poisoned to death find me, and bring me here?"

He looked beside him and saw that the one who had kicked him earlier was actually a large animal-man with a wild boar-like head, looking rough and tough.

The boar-man wore iron chains and had kicked air by mistake. His body lost balance, and he fell comically.

In front, behind, were various animal-men chained together with the same iron chains. There were leopard-heads, tiger-heads, crocodile-heads, dog-heads, ones with wings, ones with tails, dinosaur-like ones, and even species Yamiru didn't recognize—like prisoners in a forced march. On either side of these "prisoners", there was another group of people—without exception, they were "ordinary" Earth humans.

A quick scan told Yamiru that these regular humans were all quite skilled. The weakest had the combat power of a King Chappa. The strongest in the group probably wasn't weaker than Master Roshi. Yamiru could sense that the strongest presence was at the very front of the group.

Even in an era thousands of years ago… Earthlings were still at this level? Yamiru couldn't quite put his feelings into words. He remembered what he had seen with his telepathy before falling into unconsciousness, of the person who had been poisoned to death… was this Annin, perhaps, became the future Supreme Elderly Lord he knows? And that massive cauldron seemed to be the Furnace of Eight Divisions from later on.

Her battle power must far exceed that of Earthlings, right? How did she manage that?

Is it really as the "rumors" say, that she was born that way?

"Damn! You bastard, how did you dodge that?"

The boar-man clumsily got back up, his pig nose wrinkled in frustration. He wasn't satisfied, jumped up, and tried to kick Yamiru again, determined to hit him on the cart before stopping.

Is this guy a fool? Yamiru returned his focus. Even though most of his demonic energy had dissipated, there was no way this clumsy pig could kick him.

Sitting on the bumpy cart, he lightly tapped his foot, sending the heavy boar-man flipping over in place, landing in another comical fall.

"What's going on? Stop moving! Do you hear me?"

A human man in armor, holding a spear, approached the boar-man. His voice carried a strong warning, as if ready to stab the boar-man with the spear if he didn't stop.

"Heh, I'm not moving," the boar-man grinned, nodding with a nervous smile. "But why is it that we're all mutants, yet we're tied up and have to walk with two legs, while they get to sit on the carts?" He lifted his arms, the iron chains clattering, pointing at Yamiru sitting on the cart beside him.

Because of his words, the other mutants, also chained together and silently walking, all perked up their ears or turned their heads slightly to look over.

As for the cart Yamiru was on, he paid little attention to the many gazes turned toward him. It was his fellow cart-mates who finally spoke.

"Such impressive combat skills..." One of them, a human with black short hair who appeared normal, also had his hands chained behind his back.

Yamiru's gaze fell on the man's waist, where a brown "belt" covered in brown fur was visible…

And the man beside him, also chained, was a youth with a green face and two tentacles growing from his head...
