David had been inside the Graveborn Empire for some time now. His efforts hadn't been wasted — he had blended in with the locals, learning how the empire operated from within.
If one wanted to destroy something, first he had to understand it. He had to know where and when to strike to inflict maximum amount of damage.
Eventually, his path led him to the East Gate of the capital. He had observed them for a long enough time, he had seen the massive waves of undead that left it. However, he was patient; if he were to strike now, they would just return, so he waited a few days for them to go as far as possible.
Then and only then did he begin his attack.
And by the sight of the bodies all around him, it was clear his efforts had borne fruit.
'So this is how it feels to battle against undead,' he thought, smashing one zombie head after another.
