Chapter 45 - Chapter 45 : Academy Garden I

Hearing Master Nathan's words, the students immediately ran out of the classroom.

In the blink of an eye, the once-crowded class became empty, leaving only Van and Master Nathan behind.

Master Nathan then approached Van, patted his shoulder, and channeled his [Mana] into Van's body.

As Master Nathan's [Mana] entered, Van felt a warm sensation spread throughout his body. In addition, he felt the flow of [Mana] in his body become smoother.

After a moment, Van opened his eyes and was inwardly surprised to see Master Nathan sitting in front of him.

"What is it, Master Nathan?" Van asked with a flat expression and tone.

Master Nathan was silent for a moment before saying, "Be careful when controlling your [Mana]. For now, you're a ticking time bomb that could explode at any moment."

Without waiting for Van's response, Master Nathan stood and walked toward the classroom door.

Van remained silent, staring at Master Nathan's back.

As a novelist, Van naturally knew Master Nathan better than Master Nathan himself.

Known as a quiet and calm teacher, the truth was that Master Nathan was haunted by guilt.

Every night, Master Nathan would wake up multiple times due to the nightmares he experienced.

The reason was that Master Nathan was constantly haunted by his past.

Master Nathan's mother died during childbirth. His father died in a tragedy when Master Nathan was only one year old. As a result, Master Nathan grew up without parental love.

Born into the \[Gold] family, Master Nathan showed terrifying talent in magic, especially in \[Mana] control.

At the age of 24, Master Nathan had already become a Master at the Academy.

He had been a Master at the Academy for two years now.

However, his life as a Master hadn't been smooth. This was because his class, [Mana Control], was one of the most difficult classes at the Academy.

Master Nathan had seen dozens of students fall due to permanent internal injuries sustained during the class.

These incidents made Master Nathan blame himself for causing many students to lose their futures.

"I'll lock the classroom. Hurry out."

Van finally snapped out of his thoughts and walked out of the classroom.

*CLING

Van saw Master Nathan touch the classroom door and channel his \[Mana].

Runes on the door and walls lit up as they were infused with Master Nathan's [Mana], and then dozens of barrier layers enveloped the entire classroom.

"Get some rest," Master Nathan said as he left, leaving Van standing alone in the corridor.

'After attending this class, I can control [Mana] much better than before. Maybe up from 45% to 50%?' Van thought.

After the [Mana Control] class, Van arrived at the cafeteria and couldn't find Arthur.

'Maybe he's still on his way,' Van thought, then walked to an empty table.

"Hey, did you hear? There's a fight in the garden."

"What happened?"

"I passed by the garden and saw a first-year student fighting several seniors."

"Damn. First day and he already dares to challenge seniors?"

"What caused the fight?"

"I don't know. I have no idea."

"I'm a bit curious. What happened to that first-year student?"

"By the way, that first-year student was wearing a gray tie. He'll probably be fine. Also, his sword is high quality."

Hearing the students' conversation at the next table, Van suddenly thought of Arthur.

Normally, first-year students wouldn't dare cause trouble with seniors on the first day of school.

But that didn't apply to Arthur. That bastard was a mad dog that only knew how to bite.

"[Light Fairy]."

Van's shadow rippled, and a fairy the size of a baseball with glowing wings appeared.

"Check the garden," Van ordered.

"Yes, Master," said the [Light Fairy], flying so fast that it looked like a streak of light.

Moments later, a shadowy mass rejoined Van's shadow.

The [Light Fairy]'s memories also flowed into Van's mind, and he saw Arthur facing off against five senior students.

'As I suspected. That first-year student is Arthur,' Van thought.

Even though he was up against five people, Arthur still managed to hold the upper hand.

However, through the [Light Fairy]'s memories, Van saw someone troublesome heading toward the garden area.

Without thinking, Van immediately stood up and ran toward the garden.

In the garden, three senior students lay on the ground with blood still pouring from wounds on their chests, while the remaining two were almost as bad but still had enough strength to stand.

As for the one responsible for all this, Arthur stood with a few light wounds on his arms and thighs.

Around them, students watched with expressions of fear, awe, disdain, panic, and many others.

"Is this all you've got?" Arthur said while swinging his bloodstained sword. "So weak."

"Don't get cocky, you bastard," one of the two remaining seniors growled. "[Great Fireball]."

A massive fireball came at Arthur, burning the grass in its path.

Facing a fireball twice his size, Arthur remained completely calm.

He coated his sword with [Mana], then swung it vertically, creating a multicolored crescent-shaped energy slash.

Arthur's sword energy easily split the fireball and blew it apart in opposite directions.

Not only that, the sword energy continued forward and struck the chest of the senior who had cast [Great Fireball].

The sword energy left a deep wound and caused the senior to lose consciousness.

The last remaining senior was shocked to realize he was the only one left.

As he looked around, he noticed Arthur had disappeared.

'Where is he?' he thought, scanning the surroundings.

"Looking for me?"

To the senior, the voice sounded like an echo from the depths of hell.

The senior froze, then suddenly felt pain at the back of his neck before losing consciousness.

Staring at the last fallen senior, Arthur then sheathed his sword and started to leave the garden.

As he walked in a certain direction, the crowd unknowingly made way for him.

"Who did this?"

A firm and dignified voice echoed through the garden.

Arthur turned and saw a female student wearing a black cloak walking toward the unconscious senior students.

'Damn it,' Arthur thought.
