Chapter 271 - Chapter 271: Surrounded by Danger

[At this moment, Spider-Man was still being dragged along the ground, feeling the friction burn on his backside. He couldn't help but shout, "Oh! My butt!"]

[Brice aimed at Spider-Man and fired another laser shot. Spider-Man quickly used his legs to push off the ground, barely dodging the blast.]

[However, due to this sudden movement, he ended up being dragged along even more harshly. Green prepared to fire again, but Herman suddenly made a sharp turn.]

[The abrupt movement caused Green to lose his balance. The laser in his hand went off wildly, piercing through the side of the van. The recoil knocked the gun out of his grasp, sending him tumbling out of the van and into the grass.]

"That was intense! The third Peter is really having a rough time!" 1st generation George took a sip of coffee, shaking his head in disbelief. Even he hadn't expected this version of Spider-Man to face such advanced weaponry.

Compared to the laser gun in Brice's hands, standard police firearms were practically useless. Even the special forces' weapons struggled against high-strength metal objects.

Take Alexei's Rhino armor, for example. Ever since the Sky Screen finished broadcasting 2nd Gen Peter's story, many people believed that he had died at Alexei's hands.

As a result, the New York police urged Osborn Industries to tighten control over the dangerous equipment they produced, even calling for the destruction of excessively lethal weapons. Harry Osborn had agreed to all their requests.

He thought that if such weapons didn't fall into the hands of criminals, perhaps the 2nd Gen Spider-Man would still be alive. Deep down, Harry feared that Peter truly had died because of Alexei.

[Spider-Man clung to the van's rear, but every sharp turn sent him crashing into roadside obstacles.]

[Herman noticed this and deliberately twisted the steering wheel back and forth, causing Spider-Man to smash into trash cans repeatedly. Finally, he slammed hard into a stone lamppost on the sidewalk.]

[Though the little spider wasn't seriously hurt, the impact was enough to snap the web he was holding onto.]

[Herman checked the rearview mirror and saw that Spider-Man was still chasing them, completely unfazed. The little spider shot another web and attached it to the van's door, but the already-damaged door couldn't hold up.]

[With a loud snap, the door was yanked clean off. Spider-Man spread his hands helplessly. "Great! Looks like I'll have to take a shortcut!"]

[Without hesitation, he sprinted into the backyard of a house, where two people were playing table tennis.]

[As he zipped past, he gave them a quick thumbs-up. "Nice rally! Keep it up!" But then, he ran straight into their dog.]

[The puppy immediately started barking and lunged at him. Spider-Man quickly held up his hands. "Hey! Hey! Relax, buddy!"]

[Seeing the dog ready to pounce, an idea struck him. He shot a web at a rock on the ground. "Sorry, pal! No time to play—fetch!" He flung the rock aside, and the dog eagerly chased after it while Spider-Man swung away.]

[Now that he was near the houses, Spider-Man finally had something to attach his webs to. He let out a relieved yell, "Woooah! Now we're talking!"]

[He shot a web at a treehouse, but miscalculated the force. Instead of swinging smoothly, he ended up ripping the entire structure from the tree and crashing into it.]

[A series of loud clangs followed as he tumbled through, knocking over furniture. A few seconds later, the treehouse door burst open, and Spider-Man bolted out, running through the house before breaking straight through a wooden wall.]

[His momentum carried him straight through a home's railing, where a man was cooking. The man turned, staring at Spider-Man in stunned silence.]

[Spider-Man awkwardly waved. "Smells great!" Then he fired another web and swung away.]

[At another house, a backyard party was in full swing. As Spider-Man swung overhead, he miscalculated his trajectory and crashed straight into their pool.]

[The impact sent a huge splash of water onto a group of bikini-clad women nearby, making them shriek in surprise.]

[Still drenched, Spider-Man tried to recover his swing, but he ended up smashing part of a chimney and tumbling in front of a tent.]

[Inside the tent, two little girls had been playing. Suddenly, Spider-Man crashed right in front of them.]

[Startled, the girls screamed in terror.]

[Spider-Man, now lying on his back, let out a groan of pain before giving them a playful wink. "Oh! Hey there!"]

[The girls screamed even louder at the sight of his mask. Panicking, they overturned the tent while scrambling to escape.]

[Their reaction startled Spider-Man in return, making him backpedal on all fours. "NONONO! Don't freak out!"]

"Hahahaha! Peter Parker, the house-wrecking menace strikes again!" Rhodes laughed, watching Spider-Man leave a trail of destruction in his wake.

Tony, on the other hand, covered his face, clearly embarrassed. In such a flat environment, Spider-Man's usual mobility was completely useless.

Even when he found objects to swing from, the branches and obstacles threw him off balance, making him crash repeatedly.

"I really need to add some flight capabilities to his suit… something that won't interfere with his movement," Tony muttered to himself, already thinking of future upgrades.

[Meanwhile, Ned was still trying to call Spider-Man, but all he got was a voice message: "This is Peter. Please leave a message!"]

["Peter, where are you?! The hat didn't work! This is so not cool!"]

[At the same time, Spider-Man had finally caught up to Herman's van. "I'm so close! I've almost got you!"]

[He leaped onto a rooftop, keeping pace with the van as it sped along the road. He smirked confidently. "You really think you can lose me? Think again!"]

[Herman and his crew turned a corner, but Spider-Man seized the opportunity and pounced. "Surprise—!"]

[Before he could finish, a shadow loomed over him. Suddenly, the Vulture swooped down, snatching Spider-Man out of the air. "AHHHH! What the hell?!"]

[Vulture carried him higher and higher. Spider-Man struggled, but he was held upside-down by his legs, unable to break free. His chest-mounted spider emblem flashed red in alarm.]

[The next moment, a parachute deployed from his suit, yanking him free from Vulture's grasp. However, this only led to a new crisis.]

[Spider-Man found himself tangled inside the parachute, unable to gain control as he plummeted from the sky.]

[The ground rushed toward him. He panicked, flailing as he fell at high speed. Luckily, there was a lake directly below.]

[With a splash, Spider-Man crashed into the water. But the danger wasn't over yet.]

[The parachute, now drenched, clung to his body. Spider-Man struggled desperately, but the wet fabric refused to let go, trapping him beneath the surface.]
