Feng Yu needed this rest more than anyone.
It wasn't just about recovering from battle fatigue—it was about absorbing the incredible transformation brought by the Cell Development Card.
Physical fitness and potential energy are closely connected.
A stronger body can produce more Nen. Conversely, a higher Nen capacity can nourish and strengthen the body in return.
The 100% development of cellular life energy didn't directly enhance Feng Yu's physique. But the explosive increase in his Nen potential gave him an incredible feedback effect—power flowed through his body like a rushing tide, rapidly boosting his strength.
With the added strain of the gravity ring enhancing his workouts, Feng Yu's physical growth over the past few days had been tremendous.
His current physical prowess was worlds apart from where he had been during the Hunter Exam.
And as with any type of power, progress slows the further you go. The stronger you get, the harder it becomes to improve.
So the fact that Feng Yu had made such dramatic gains in such a short time proved just how effective his current Nen potential was at nourishing his body.
More than half a month passed in peaceful rest.
Then one night, lying together in bed after an intense training session, Mia rested her head against Feng Yu's shoulder and voiced her curiosity.
"Isn't it weird that Meteor Street hasn't reacted to the death of the Meteor Pursuit Team?"
Indeed, things had been eerily quiet.
No retaliation. No new pursuers.
If the underworld hadn't reacted, that could be chalked up to the dark flower being sold off quietly after the battle at Kavos City.
But Meteor Street?
Feng Yu and his team hadn't even cleaned up the battlefield. They left the corpses behind—an unmistakable message to anyone who found them.
Surely, by now, the Council of Elders would have noticed.
"Shiba dug into it a little," Feng Yu replied thoughtfully. "She couldn't get exact details, but she found out that things are chaotic inside Meteor Street right now. The Council of Elders has been cracking down on a lot of groups."
Mia sat up slightly, raising her eyebrows.
"So you think something's happening internally, and that's why they haven't sent anyone after us?"
Feng Yu nodded. "That's one possibility."
Mia hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Once we're done resting, are you planning to return to Meteor Street… or focus on something else?"
They had been together long enough that Mia understood how Feng Yu thought. He never sat back and waited to be attacked—he always moved forward.
Plus, there were still plenty of A-rank criminals on the Hunter Association's wanted list. It wasn't like they were out of work.
Feng Yu leaned over, brushing a lock of hair from Mia's cheek.
"Meteor Street still has many powerful fighters," he said. "Just one elder, Vivian, had multiple first-rate Nen users under her command. The other nine Elders are probably no different."
"Even after we wiped out the Pursuit Team, we only scratched the surface. So yeah, we'll deal with Meteor Street… but only once we're strong enough to crush them."
Mia nodded silently.
She agreed. The time would come. Just not yet.
Feng Yu had no illusions about the power Meteor Street held.
Even if they were currently distracted by internal problems, he knew it wouldn't last forever. Eventually, someone would come for him.
So he needed to keep building strength.
But recently, his physical growth had started to plateau.
The gravity-assisted training had run its course. The feedback from his Nen potential was no longer producing rapid improvements.
That was his cue.
It was time to move again.
If he wanted to grow stronger fast, completing achievements was still the best option.
Especially Crime Busters III, which rewarded progress for eliminating A-level criminals. Meteor Street didn't have a monopoly on those.
The very next morning, Feng Yu was preparing to tell Shiba and Mia that their break was over.
But before he could say a word, his phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Yes, this is Feng Yu."
"…Oh?"
"Understood. I'll be there."
He ended the call, clearly surprised.
"Who was it?" Shiba asked from across the table, curiosity in her eyes.
Mia looked up too, still holding Dilumon in her arms.
"It was the Hunter Association," Feng Yu said with a chuckle. "One of their staff contacted me just now. Based on my record, I've qualified to be promoted to a One-Star Hunter. They want me to go to HQ and complete the process."
"The Hunter Association?!" both women said in unison, surprised.
"Meow?" Dilumon tilted its little head in confusion, ears twitching with curiosity.
Though new to this world, Dilumon was a fast learner. With help from Shiba, it had even learned to browse the internet and was becoming familiar with many parts of modern society.
"That actually makes perfect sense," Shiba said after a moment. "We've taken down a lot of criminals lately. Even though we didn't submit all of them for bounty, we did report most of them. You totally deserve a star."
Feng Yu smiled, grateful for the praise—but his mind was already racing ahead.
The break was over.
It was time to start moving again.
