There was a quiet pause as Zethan's lips curled into a sly smile. He leaned in slightly.
"What if I am," he whispered huskily, his eyes glinting with mischief.
Rose froze for a moment. To Zethan's utmost surprise, she then smiled back, her lips curving up gently.
"If you are, that would be awesome," she said softly. "I've read about lots and lots of species that we humans have no idea about. I've always believed it to be true, even though I had no proof. Not to mention the book I read—it didn't make me lose my doubt, in fact, it gave me more reasons why it's true. But I don't believe such things exist anymore… that must have been billions of years ago." Rose spoke suddenly.
Zethan watched her intently, eyes slightly widened in quiet surprise. He hadn't expected that reaction—or those words.
Now this woman kept surprising him more and more. The more he thought he knew, the more she punched him in the gut with another twist.
