"Do it now, Mavros. We're already beyond anyone's reach," Cassius declared, standing with arms akimbo. He cast a cold glare at Marcus Davion.

"Do you want to proceed with your plan or not? I went to great lengths to bring you here, ensuring the Empress and Emperor suspected nothing.

"You asked me to sacrifice one of Count Davion's sons so you could possess him? So, tell me now—what is it you're truly trying to do?"

Cassius could sense Mavros's presence, yet he had taken possession of Marcus Davion's body.

The essence of Mavros was unmistakable—his copper piercing pupils, the way he smirked, the sinister expression that Cassius could never quite decipher.
