Selene jerked upright as a soft knock echoed through the room. Her fingers gripped the sheets, her breath catching in her throat. A bad dream had just terrified her, there was a chill still clinging to her even after she woke.
A truly awful one.
The knock came again, and this time, Selene gasped. Who could it be? Isolde usually came right after a soft knock. The Alpha simply barged in, and the Omega who brought her meals always knocked three times before coming in and hurrying away.
Another knock. Selene couldn't help but call out softly, pulling her veil tightly around her head .
"Come in." She braced herself, hoping it wasn't someone with bad intentions. Then, seeing who it was, her shoulders relaxed instantly.
Beautiful brown curls, dark eyes, and a peaceful calm about her. Selene thought this as Blaize walked in.
