Chapter 39 - Chp 37: The Rematch.

"Lord Ainz, meet us in the square. There, we shall decide once and for all, who shall live and...who shall die!!" Jaldabaoth declared as he flew away with his demon maids.

"See you there, Lord Ainz." Orovas smirked as he used Greater Teleportation to disappear.

As the two Demons left, a heavy silence fell in the now destroyed room. The only noise was the sobs of Remedios who was still clutching the remaining chunks of Calca.

As Ainz was about to leave, Neia stopped him.

"Your Majesty! Are you really going there?"

"Yes. This a feud of ages that needs to end, tonight. Many lives were lost in our time, I will not let it happen again." Ainz spoke as he left the room.

"Your... majesty." Neia muttered as she looked at the spot where the valiant Overlord stood.

-----

As Ainz slowly walked towards the city square, he sighed to himself.

'Ahhh, I can't believe Demiurge and Hyortr would do such a thing with me.'

'After all those meticulous planning, the last part of the plan for me was just go with the flow, we believe in you? I can't even believe myself, how do they even have this much faith in me?' Ainz ranted as he approached the city square.

When he saw the colossal Greater Demon known as wrath, with the pleiades, he recounted the planning Demiurge, Hyortr, Albedo and he did.

"Lord Ainz, everything will go like this.." In a secluded chamber, the four discussed the plans for the Roble Kingdom.

After listening to the script, Ainz proposed, "Demiurge, I am happy with your arrangements, but I have two of my personal side projects I would like you to fulfill for me."

"What is it my Lord?" Demiurge curiously asked.

"I want you to order Wrath to fight me seriously."

"I possibly can't my Lord!!" Surprised, Demiurge firmly protested.

"It will be done my Lord." Albedo, having complete faith in Ainz replied instantly.

"Albedo!"

"It is Lord Ainz's wishes, Demiurge." Hyortr too concurred.

"Hyortr! You too?"

"Yes, why? Do you not have faith in Lord Ainz's strength?" Albedo then asked Demiurge, a small smile in her face.

"No..."

"Then it will be fine. What is the other request my lord?" Hyortr asked.

"I want to promote the Rune Technology. I plan to get 'defeated' by Jaldabaoth as your trips along with CZ, will advertise it for me."

"Lord Ainz, may I propose something?"

"What is it Hyortr?" Ainz replied.

"Let's make your clash with Jaldabaoth a two on one duel."

"What are you saying Hyortr?" Demiurge looked at Hyortr, as if he had gone mad.

"Wrath, is a level 87 demon and will be weaker for your expectations Lord Ainz. So I propose Orovas to fight you too. The Spear, Super Shining Star, is a divine grade Artifact crafted throught rune technology. This will complete both of your requests in one act, Lord Ainz."

"A good idea Hyortr, but I fear those humans will not understand anything unless we feed it to them." Albedo added.

"That's why, when the fight begins, I, as Hyortr will appear before them and explain the mechanisms. And when you will almost get 'defeated', I will step in, assisting Neia Baraja in helping you." Hyortr nodded as he looked at Ainz.

The flashback ended as Ainz came back to the present.

As Ainz saw wrath, he spoke.

"I believe Demiurge related the plan?"

"Ofcourse, Lord Ainz." The demon replied in a subservient tone, his character completely different from the way he talked before the humans.

"Then, let's begin."

----

Back in the destroyed balcony, Neia along with Remedios, Gustav, the prince looked at the unfolding light show in the city square.

As they saw Jaldabaoth and Ainz duel in a magic contest with fire explosions, lightings and black holes, Neia gripped her Bow tightly.

"Your Majesty...please win."

As a large explosion occured, destroying a large area of the square followed by a towering tordano, just when it seemed like Ainz was about to win, a figure intercepted Ainz as it flunged him backward with a spear.

The spear, gleaming with a prismatic glow as the figure smiled menacingly.

"No!" Neia's tone wavered as she saw Orovas join in on the fight.

Now with Jaldabaoth and Orovas both working together, Ainz was slowly being pushed back.

"Are we this weak? Why am so weak? Even the power of a Demon Lord isn't enough to fight them, no! Only Lord Ainz can defeat them...if only..." Neia gritted her teeth as she referred not stopping Ainz from recusing them.

"His mana is depleted." A voice suddenly spoke from the back as everyone turned in surprise.

That familiar face plate looked up at the fight in the air as he hovered off the ground, his hands behind him.

"If Lord Ainz was in full mana, such a fight would have been even ground for him. But because he decided to save you..." Hyortr said as he looked at Neia.

"Please! Help him!" Neia seeing Hyortr quickly requested.

"I can't." Hyortr calmy replied.

"Why! Isn't he your king?! Are you betraying him?!" Neia burst in rage as she glared at Hyortr.

"Do you see that spear." Unfazed by her outburst, Hyortr calmly pointed.

As they saw the Spear floating beside Orovas, Hyortr spoke, "That Spear is a Divine Grade Runic Artifact. It is capable of high destruction and attacks. It also has a special effect that makes me unable to assist Lord Ainz."

"How?"

"I am what is called a Abysal Lector, born of an Essence that is opposite to the power that was used to craft Runes. That Spear will repell any attacks inflict on Orovas. But there is a way to counter it." Hyortr revealed.

"What is it!!?" Unable to keep her patience in check, Neia quickly asked.

"If only there was an equally powerful Runic Artifact with us that could be used a long ranges weapon.... preferably a Bow..." Hyortr spoke as he side glanced at the Bow she was holding.

"This?...is it really powerful?" Gustav asked.

"Yes, Runes although hard to create is a powerful tool against enemies like Orovas. Neia, put all your faith in Lord Ainz and shoot your most powerful arrow." Hyortr then guided.

"My most powerful bow..." Neia, muttered to herself as she saw Ainz slowly being pushed back. Her previous desire to help Ainz coming back inside her heart like a gushing dam's water as she closed her eyes.

Pulling the bow strong she knocked an arrow, as she concentrated. A brilliant light engulfed her originating from the bow. This display stunned the onlookers as they gasped in awe.

Finally, when she felt it right, she released the arrow. A long white streak of light travelled through the sky as it targeted Orovas' hands.

It swiftly cut his hands which were holding the spear as the spear too got destroyed.

"Nooo!! My Spear!!" Orovas cried in anguish as he watched the spear dissipate into particles.

"Good job Neia Baraja, now, leave the rest to Lord Ainz." Hyortr spoke as he disappeared in a mist.
