Nearly deserted all day, yet today, early in the morning, a middle-aged man in a suit with an indifferent expression came in and sat at the bar, shaking an empty glass.
"Sir, what may I get for you? We have a wide selection of drinks," Bilina asked with a smile.
The middle-aged man tapped on the bar rhythmically, spread his palm flat on the surface, then pointed to the spot he had just wiped.
Bilina looked puzzled, thinking how odd this customer was, exuding an aura akin to an official, yet not quite like those government types, carrying the vibes of both officialdom and the underworld.
She followed the gentleman's pointed direction on the table, her expression changed momentarily, then she forced a smile and asked, "Sir, how could you doodle on our table like that?"
