Chantelle felt like she was about to pass out but she couldn't let that happen. If she lost consciousness now, what would happen to Stephanie?
"Mommy, don't worry. I'll find a way to get us out," Stephanie said firmly.
She had seen Chantelle like this before and understood she was sick again. After making sure her mom was resting properly on the sofa, she ran off to find an escape.
Chantelle was barely holding on. She took the knife she had grabbed earlier and made a small cut on her thigh. The sting of pain helped her stay awake.
The smoke kept getting thicker. It was hard to see anything. Even if the fire didn't reach them, the smoke alone could kill them.
She didn't think Camille was smart enough to pull off something like this.
From what she could tell, more than one person was targeting them. She had to admit she had been too careless. Things had gotten way out of hand.
She needed to get out fast. She had to check on Kane and Railer and make sure they were safe.
