Cael's boots thudded against the polished hallway floor as he ascended the stone staircase. His eyes were cold and focused. His face was set in a way that made the guard at the top of the stairs snap to attention the moment he saw him.
"Ensure no one goes near Rowan's cell," Cael ordered without slowing.
The guard nodded immediately. "Yes, Alpha."
Cael didn't say anything. He reached out through the pack link.
Jason and Liam, meet me and Jonathan in my office.
Their mental response came fast.

As Cael turned and walked back toward the pack house, Jonathan fell into step beside him.
The head warrior was speaking low but urgently into his earpiece.
