Cael POV
He didn't know how long he had been driving, probably two hours, maybe more. Only that when he finally took notice of his surroundings, it was already very dark. As soon as he drove out of the pack compound, he had shut down, blanked out and just focused on the purr of his engine. He slowed down and looked around him, the road in was on stretched endlessly ahead of him, dark and winding, it was a very quiet expressway with nothing but the low hum of his car engine, the cars that pass onelce in a while and the occasional howl of a far-off wolf to keep him company.
Cael's fingers gripped the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles turned white. His thoughts were still spiralling. Now that he had left his blanked out state, his damn brain resumed replaying that kiss over and over again—Elisa, smiling and laughing with another man, pressing her lips to another man.
A mere human.
