Chapter 62 - Chapter : 62 : Chaos in the Clubroom

The clock ticked softly against the silence of the Odd Jobs Clubroom. Afternoon light spilled across the floor through slanted blinds, dust particles drifting lazily in golden beams. It was that quiet time after school where everything felt too calm—too still.

I was nowhere to be seen.

Aisha sat elegantly on the couch, one leg crossed over the other. She wore her signature white lab coat, open just enough to reveal the curve of her modest blouse beneath. Her long, balck hair fell over one shoulder as she lifted a porcelain cup to her lips.

Sip.

A soft sigh escaped her. Warm. Comforting.

"Mmm~ Just right."

Mei lounged with her legs tucked up, her eyes locked on her handheld gaming console. Headphones covered her ears, and her deep blue hair bounced with every agitated head movement.

"Tch. No. No! You stupid combo dropper! Are you allergic to winning?!"

She screamed silently, pressing buttons with enough intensity to bruise.

Hana sat next to her, scrolling through her phone with a lazy, amused smile. Her hair was tied back messily, and her skirt had hiked a bit from how she slouched.

Aoi, sitting near the window, was eating her lunch slowly. Very slowly. Her chopsticks moved with such care that it almost looked ceremonial. Her face turned red every time she caught someone looking.

In the air above, Akemi floated upside down, her long ghostly hair hanging toward the floor, swaying gently.

She sighed. Loudly.

"Ughhh~ I'm so bored."

She spun midair, then stopped, hovering like an upside-down angel of mischief.

"I wanna kiss Ito... Or do naughty stuff... Or BOTH! But he's not heeere~"

Her voice trailed off in a playful groan as she dramatically flopped midair, phasing through the ceiling and back down.

Suddenly, her eyes sparkled. Her mouth formed a wide grin.

Idea.

A terrible, wonderful, Akemi-style idea.

She zipped down and shouted at the top of her lungs.

"GIIIIIIIRLS!"

Aoi jumped in place, nearly choking on a rice ball.

"A-Akemi-senpai?! W-What happened?!"

Aisha blinked slowly, sipping again. "You startled poor Aoi."

Hana looked up, smiling. "You got something for us, Ghost-chan?"

Mei didn't even look away. "Unless it's a cheat code for this garbage boss, not interested."

Akemi spun once in excitement, her ghostly form sparkling.

"How about we do something fun? Something that'll totally mess with Ito when he walks in!"

Aisha raised an eyebrow. "Define 'fun'."

Hana leaned forward, clearly intrigued. "I like where this is going."

"Let's switch bodies!" Akemi grinned. "Let's see if Ito can still recognize us!"

Aisha put down her cup. "Intriguing. That could test how well he really knows us."

Hana clapped. "Oooh, yes! Let's confuse the hell outta him!"

Aoi's chopsticks trembled. "E-ehh?! Switch b-bodies? That sounds dangerous...!"

Mei scoffed, still eyes on her game. "It's not like I want to participate, but how exactly are you planning to do that, Poltergeist Princess?"

Akemi smirked, glowing mischievously. "Leave it to me~"

She raised both ghostly hands and swirled them in a strange rhythm. Sparks flew from her fingers. Ethereal symbols glowed in the air.

"Ready, ladies~?"

Before anyone could object, their vision shook. A swirling dizziness hit them like a truck. Everything bent, twisted—

And then snapped.

All of them jolted.

Then silence.

"...Did anyone else feel like their brain just fell off a cliff?" Hana asked.

"Y-you call this magic?! I thought I was going to DIE!" Aisha whimpered.

"W-why am I seeing double melons?!" Mei gasped.

She blinked down.

Her hands were not hers.

Her chest was DEFINITELY not hers.

And there, draped perfectly beneath a very familiar lab coat, was the curvaceous form of...

"S-S-S-SENSEI?!"

Mei cupped the breasts.

She squeezed.

"O-Oh my god... THEY'RE REAL?!"

"STOP TOUCHING THOSE!" Aisha's voice shouted—but it came from Aoi's body.

"They're for Ito only!"

Mei—in Aisha's body—turned crimson.

"I-I WAS JUST CHECKING FOR AUTHENTICITY!"

"Ohhh man," Hana said, now looking at her reflection in Mei's body. "I'm Mei-Chan? This is weird. I feel... extra tsundere."

"Y-you're me?!" Mei cried.

Aisha, still composed despite being in Aoi's dainty body, sighed. "Well, this is an experience. I'm a lot shorter now."

Aoi—who now had Hana's body—was curled up into a blushing ball. "T-this is too confusing...! W-why do I feel heavier...?!"

Akemi floated above, smug. "This is already amazing."

"We should write a script," Hana-in-Mei grinned. "I'll do my best tsundere impression!"

"I SWEAR IF YOU RUIN MY DIGNITY, I'LL SHOVE THAT PHONE DOWN YOUR THROAT!" Mei-Aisha screamed.

"What dignity? You just motorboated yourself!" Akemi cackled.

Suddenly, the door creaked open.

All heads turned.

I walked in, rubbing the back of my neck.

"Hey girls, sorry I'm late.

I opened the door to the clubroom.

The scent of coffee, warmed food, and... chaos.

The moment I stepped inside, something felt off.

Before I could process it, a familiar chill wrapped around me—followed by a much more familiar chill.

"Itooooo~!" Akemi squealed.

She swooped down from the air and crashed into me like a missile made of ghostly softness and mischief. Her translucent arms wrapped tight around my neck as her lips crashed against mine, kissing me with a shocking hunger that nearly made me stumble backward.

My eyes widened as her tongue slipped past my lips. Her cold hands snaked around my shoulders, pulling me in deeper. Her body, intangible to everyone else, felt perfectly real to me. Her kiss was wet, hot, desperate.

When we finally parted, a thin line of drool connected our lips before vanishing with her spiritual energy.

She panted, eyes wild. "I missed you, dummy…"

I blinked, my lips still tingling. "You last saw me thirty minutes ago."

She grinned, floating slightly in place. "So what? It felt like eternity!"

I couldn't help but chuckle, brushing my fingers through her pale hair.

"Always dramatic."

Then, I turned toward the others—finally noticing the strange tension in the room.

All of them were standing. Looking at me.

Still.

Too still.

Like they had done something stupid.

I narrowed my eyes. Mei stood stiffly with a sour expression. Aisha—except she looked a bit... off—stood near the desk, sipping from her coffee, but the cup was trembling ever so slightly in her hand. Hana had a strange glint in her eyes. Aoi looked confident? Or was I hallucinating?

Wait…

Something was seriously wrong here.

I tilted my head.

"…Did something happen?"

All of them spoke at once. Too quickly.

"Nope!"

My brow twitched.

Suspicious.

Very suspicious.

And the way they all immediately looked away from me only confirmed it.

[Mei's Soul – Inside Aisha's Body]

Ughhh! Dammit! He's already onto us! Does he know?! No! Don't fidget, Mei! Be cool! Be sexy! I mean, I HAVE A CUP NOW. Pretend you're Aisha. Calm… mature… elegant—oh, screw it, I can't even stand straight with these things bouncing everywhere!

[Aisha's Soul – Inside Aoi's Body]

Oh dear. He's scanning us. He's analyzing everything. What if he sees the way I'm standing? The way I blink? No—calm down, Aisha. You're a nurse. A woman of grace. You can fool your boyfriend… right?

[Aoi's Soul – Inside Hana's Body]

Oh no oh no oh noooo! He's looking directly at me! No wait, not me—Hana's body! But it IS me! Wait! Do I even act like Hana?! I don't flirt! I don't joke! I don't even use my phone that much! What if he thinks I'm possessed?! Oh wait… I am...

[Hana's Soul – Inside Mei's Body]

Pffft~ This is too funny. I hope I can keep a straight face. Maybe I should fake a tsundere outburst? Nah, too soon. Let's see how long it takes before he realizes I'm not yelling at my game.

---

I slowly walked toward my desk.

Every step echoed like I was the final boss entering the arena.

I dragged the chair out and spun it around.

With a practiced motion, I dropped into it, leaned back, and laced my fingers behind my head like a king surveying his strange, adorable kingdom.

Akemi floated beside me like a smug little cat.
