Theo stood in front of me, arms outstretched like a damn wall of stone, the edge of his voice strained with worry.
His eyes darted toward the guards nearby, silently warning them not to step closer.
Behind me, Blake let out a low whistle, arms crossed, his back casually propped against the far wall.
"You are seriously going to get yourself killed before you even get to the pack."
I ignored them both.
My fists clenched at my sides, heat rising like steam beneath my skin.
Every nerve in my body screamed for movement. I could feel her emotions through the mate bond, I had never felt it this much before.
The pain hit me like a dagger between the ribs. Something was wrong for the pain to be this awful.

"Move," I growled through gritted teeth. "Now."
