Chapter 111 - Chapter 111: Militech’s Middleman? Just a Dog!

"Why?!"

Faraday finally snapped out of his daze, his face twisting into a sneer of disdain. He took a step forward, his voice dripping with condescension.

"Kid, you should know who you're dealing with."

He gestured to the heavily armed Militech mercs surrounding them.

"If you don't want to be turned into Swiss cheese, I suggest you come with us—quietly."

David, standing tall with his arms crossed, raised an eyebrow.

"Oh? And just because you're with Militech, that gives you the right to snatch people off the street?"

Faraday let out a sharp, arrogant laugh, his cybernetic eyes glinting in the neon haze.

"Yes!"

He tilted his head back, looking down at David like he was nothing more than an insect.

"Now quit running your mouth and come with us before I make you."

For a moment, there was silence.

Then—

"Hahahaha!"

David threw his head back and laughed, loud and mocking.

Faraday's smug grin faltered slightly.

"What's so funny?" he snapped.

David's expression sharpened, his pupils contracting into cold pinpricks of light.

"You."

A chill ran down Faraday's spine.

"You're just a dog."

Faraday's face twisted with rage.

"What did you say?!"

David lifted his right hand just slightly.

"Jack. Lucy. Do it."

Before Faraday or his mercs could react—

A low, mechanical hum filled the air.

In an instant, Jack and Lucy's combat implants surged to life.

Their Project Source combat chips activated, and sleek, cutting-edge war armor materialized around their bodies.

Faraday's eyes widened in shock.

"What the—"

"FIRE!" one of the Militech mercs screamed.

Gunfire Erupts

Dakka-dakka-dakka!

Bullets sprayed in every direction, ripping through the warehouse's decayed wooden walls, shattering old crates and kicking up a storm of dust and debris.

The air filled with the sharp scent of gunpowder and burning metal.

For a moment, David's silhouette flickered in the thick haze.

But Jack and Lucy—were already gone.

Jack Strikes First

The mercs moved cautiously, scanning the swirling dust cloud, fingers tense on their triggers.

And then—

"Let's see how you handle THIS!"

A metallic voice whispered right behind them.

Jack.

Before they could even turn, Jack slid into position—two pistols raised.

The 'Golden Ruthless Woman'—Militech's holy grail of custom handguns.

BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!

Gunfire erupted as Jack weaved through their ranks, each shot perfectly placed.

A merc dropped, his chest armor shattered by a well-placed round.

Another spun violently as a bullet pierced his helmet, his lifeless body crumpling to the floor.

His movements were fluid, violent—an art form of destruction.

The Militech mercs tried to retaliate, but Jack was too fast.

Ducking. Rolling. Twisting.

Every shot was perfectly executed—like a maestro conducting a symphony of gunfire and chaos.

Lucy's Deadly Hunt

"SHIT! WATCH THE REAR!" one of the mercs screamed.

Too late.

A whisper in the smoke.

A flash of silver.

And then—blood.

One of the mercs stiffened as two razor-thin nano-blades sliced through his neck.

Lucy vanished before the body even hit the ground.

"It's a ghost! It's a fucking ghost!!!"

Panic spread like wildfire.

The mercs fired wildly into the smoke, their bullets hitting nothing.

David still hadn't moved.

He didn't need to.

This wasn't a battle.

It was a massacre.

Faraday Realizes the Truth

Faraday took a shaky step backward, sweat beading on his forehead.

These three…

They weren't just some random punks.

They were monsters.

"F-FALL BACK!" one of the mercs screamed.

It didn't matter.

They were already dead.

Slice—!

Another merc collapsed, Lucy's nano-blades leaving a clean, surgical cut across his throat.

BLAM!

Jack put a final round through the last standing merc's head.

A single spent casing hit the floor, spinning before coming to a stop.

And just like that—

It was over.

David Steps Forward

The dust finally settled.

David, standing calmly in the center of the carnage, stared at Faraday.

The only one left alive.

Faraday was visibly shaking.

David took a slow step toward him.

Faraday flinched.

For the first time in his life…

He felt true fear.

David stopped right in front of him, staring him down.

"Tell me, Faraday… where's all that confidence now?"

Faraday's breath was ragged, his cybernetic fingers twitching.

David leaned in, his voice dangerously low.

"You thought you could come in here… flex Militech's name… and scare me?"

He chuckled.

"Buddy, you don't even realize what kind of game you're playing."

Faraday opened his mouth to speak—

"Shut up."

David's cybernetic grip snapped around Faraday's collar, yanking him close.

"You're not Militech."

David's eyes glowed cold and sharp.

"You're just their middleman. A dog on a leash."

Faraday froze.

David let him go.

Faraday stumbled backward, gasping.

"Get the hell out of my sight."

Faraday didn't hesitate.

He turned and ran, disappearing into the dark streets of Watson.

David let out a breath.

Behind him, Jack twirled his pistols before holstering them.

Lucy wiped the blood from her nano-blades.

Jack let out a low whistle.

"Well. That was fun."

David smirked.

"Yeah. But it's just the beginning."
