The others were asleep, even Elias now. Even the ocean was quiet and no sound emitted from beyond the barrier. For the first time since they'd escaped the maze, the island was still.
He knew what was coming. This peace was just the last breath before a plunge. Before the final destination.
So, he decided to perform an inventory check on all the power he had at his disposal. He needed to be aware of what he could bring to bear before they confronted the Deep.
