Chapter 20 - CHAPTER 20

Aurélia ran to her house door and started knocking. Her mom heard the knocking and opened it, allowing her to enter. Aurélia gave her mom a warm, tight hug. "I really missed you, Mommy," Aurélia said, her expression sad. "I missed you too, sweetie," her mom replied. Aurélia settled into the couch, taking a deep breath as she asked her mom, "Hey, where's Alison?" Her mom smiled,"He's at his friend's place, playing video games. Don't worry, I'll pick him up later." Aurélia nodded, and they chatted about their day, discussing everything from college to family plans.

As they talked, Aurélia's mom turned serious, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "So, Aurélia, I have to ask...do you have a boyfriend? You are yet to graduate from college, so I've to know." Aurélia's heart skipped a beat as she hesitated, her mind racing. She didn't want to lie to her mom, but she wasn't ready to talk about Isaiah yet. "Ugh! Mom, I'm just focusing on my studies right now," she said finally, trying to sound convincing. "No...no boyfriend, no drama. I...I swear." Her mom raised an eyebrow, her expression cautious, but she let it pass. "Okay, sweetie, I just want you to be happy. Remember to take care of yourself always, okay?"

After a while, Aurélia stood up, stretching her arms. "Mom, I'm going out with some friends. I might be back late." Her mom nodded, "Be safe, and don't forget your phone." Aurélia smiled, grabbing her purse and heading out the door.

She made her way to the bar, the neon lights flashing as she pushed open the door. The music pulsed through her veins as she walked up to the counter, ordering a super vodka taquila. Aurélia sat waiting for her drink, scanning the room with a mix of excitement and paranoia. That's when she spotted him–Isaiah, the person who she never expected to meet. And he is in the same bar with her. Panicked, she ducked behind the bar attendant, whispering frantically, "Psst, do you have a book or something I can hide behind? I don't want to be recognized."

The attendant raised an eyebrow, amused by her antics. "Uh, ma'am, we're a bar, not a library. But I can offer you a cocktail napkin?" Aurélia's face contorted in desperation as she grabbed the napkin and covered her face, peeking over the edge to see if Isaiah had spotted her.

Aurélia's drink arrived, and she took a sip, trying to play it cool while covering her face with a napkin. Isaiah had already seen her although he had pretended not to see her but only watching her drama of covering her face. He got up from his table, walking towards Aurélia at the counter with a confident stride. She thought she wasn't done by Isaiah seeing her. She thought this time she was the real drama queen.

"Well, well, well. Look what we have here," he said his voice low. Aurélia's eyes widened as she recognized the voice. "What brings you to this place, beautiful?" Aurélia uncovered herself with the napkin. "Just needed a drink, Isaiah. What about you stalker?"

"Stalking you? Please, it was a coincidence... that I'm apparently psychic and knew exactly where to find you," Isaiah said with a smirk. Aurélia rolled her eyes, "Okay, fine. You've seen me. But don't tell anyone I was here, or I'll deny it till the grave." She was served her drink, and Isaiah raised an eyebrow. "You think you can handle that? It's not exactly a virgin daiquiri." Aurélia shot back, "Of course I can handle it. Are you jealous I'm splurging on expensive drinks with my hard-earned cash?"

Isaiah chuckled, snatching the drink from her hand. "You can't drink that; you can't even handle getting yourself home." Aurélia's face lit up with determination as she grabbed the drink back and downed it in one gulp. One sip later, her eyes glazed over, and she face–planted onto the table, her head thudding against the wood. Isaiah sighed, "I told you so."

As Aurélia's head lolled back, Isaiah chuckled and pulled her into a sitting a position. "You're something else, you know that?" he said, shaking his head. Aurélia's eyes fluttered open, and she gazed up at him with a goofy grin. "Ish... Isaiah... you're...so...so handsome," she slurred, her words tumbling out in a messy heap. "You're like a superhero... with...a cape... and...a...a...a really nice smile." Isaiah laughed, "I think you've had one too many, Aurélia." She nodded enthusiastically, "Yeah, yeah, you're right! I had...um...a million drinks!"

Isaiah chuckled and leaned in, "Well, let's get you out of here before you sing on the table." Aurélia's face lit up, "Ooh, singing! I love singing!" She started belting out a slurred rendition of a popular song, much to the amusement of the nearby patrons. Isaiah facepalmed, "This is going to be a long night." He wrapped his hand around her waist, pulling her close as he guided her out of the bar. "You're definitely going to owe me for this, Aurélia."

Isaiah guided Aurélia out of the bar, she suddenly stopped and spun around, her arms flailing widly. "Wait, wait, wait! I forgot to pay for my drink!" she exclaimed, nearly face-planting into a nearby table. Isaiah caught her by the elbow, laughing. "Don't worry, I've got it covered." Aurélia gazed up at him adoringly, her eyes glassy. "You're the best, Isaiah! You're like my guardian angel...or a bartender superhero!"

They stepped outside and Aurélia started singing again, this time at the top of her lungs. Isaiah winced, chuckling. "Aurélia, you're going to wake up the whole neighborhood." She spun around, her arms outstretched. "I'M SINGING MY HEART OUT! I'M THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL!" A passing pedestrian stopped and stared, amused. "I think she's got a talent," he said to Isaiah, grinning. Isaiah just shook his head, laughing. "I think she's got one too many drinks."

Isaiah settled Aurélia into the car, her gaze locked onto his, her eyes shimmering with a drunken gaze. "I've never seen you laugh like that before," she whispered. "You look... breathtakingly handsome when you smile." Her words tumbled out in a tender, messy, cadence. Aurélia's fingers drifted up to his jawline, her fingertips grazing his skin like a whispered promise. "You are the most handsome guy I've ever seen, and you also know that I love you... but I won't say it loud, not yet. I don't want to confess to you my true feelings for you, although you did. I'm not playing with you... but." Her voice trailed off, laced with vulnerability. "And your brother Asher... he is my best friend though, but I think he's hiding something from me. I don't understand why he doesn't want me to be close to you, and I sometimes want to listen to him because I don't want trouble between you two."

Isaiah's expression softened, his eyes filling with warmth. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close so tightly. "I won't let you go, Aurélia. I won't let you down, no matter what. I always figure out everything that goes wrong, I promise to you this." His voice was a gentle, a whispered vow. As he held her, Aurélia's eyelids began to droop, her head nestling into the crook of his shoulder. "I'm happy today... because I'm with you," she murmured, her voice fading into a soft sigh.

"It's getting hot in here." Aurélia whispered in Isaiah's eyes. "Oh, sorry I forgot to turn on the air conditioner." Isaiah said and he turned on the air-conditioner. "Ok, Aurélia I have to drive you back at your home, okay." Isaiah said and pressed his lips to her forehead.

As he turned to move to the driver's seat, Aurélia's fingers wrapped around his wrist, holding him in place. "Don't go," she whispered, her voice laced with desperation. "Don't leave me alone, not like this." Her eyes searched his, filled with uncertainty and vulnerability. "Do you hate me now? she asked.

"Aurélia, how can you even think that?" Isaiah said softly. "I could never hate you." his voice was gentle, reassuring. "I just want to get you home safely. Your mom is worried sick about you."

Aurélia nuzzled closer, her voice barely above a whisper. "Just a few minutes, please?" she asked, resting her head on his shoulder. Isaiah's arm instinctively wrapped around her, holding her close.

"It's really hot, Isaiah." Aurélia whispered. "Am I overwhelming you?" Isaiah said. "No, it's not what I meant but can I take my jacket off?" Aurélia asked.

"Yes, you can and I'll look away if you don't... don't mind." Isaiah said. Aurélia started stripping off her clothes left in a bra. "I'm done, you can look at me now." Aurélia said, with a wide smile spreading her face. "Wa... what are you trying to do Aurélia?" Isaiah said trying to cover his eyes.

"Don't react like you have never seen my body before. And I'm half naked." Aurélia said. "Don't make a fussy about it." she added.

She pulled him closer to her and started slipping open his shirt. "How many packs do you have, Isaiah?" Aurélia whispered. "I know you what to make sex with me but you trying to act like Mr. Perfect." She added.

"Aurélia you're drunk, I can't dare even if I want to. I don't want to take advantage of you because you are drunk." Isaiah replied trying to button up his shirt. He grabbed Aurélia's shirt and dressed her back.

Aurélia moved her hand into Isaiah's pants, Isaiah felt his cock hard when Aurélia's hand was inside his pants. "Stop it Aurélia!" he whispered. Aurélia pulled him close and leaned him into a passionate kiss. Isaiah felt relieved though he tried to control his sensual feelings. "I...I... tried to stop you but you won." He said and he pulled her back to a kiss.
