Chapter 353 - Chapter 346: Miku Izayoi: I Was Clearly Here First!

The Global Occult Coalition.

Also known as the GOC.

When it came to this organization, Haruto was no stranger—in fact, he was very familiar with it.

In the vast majority of parallel realities outside the primary world, the GOC—Global Occult Coalition—was the largest supernatural organization on Earth.

Formed by 108 supernatural organizations from around the globe.

Highly militarized, they had a near-zero tolerance policy toward anomalous entities—they were to be killed without mercy.

In most parallel realities, the GOC and the SCP Foundation maintained a semi-hostile, ambiguous relationship—sometimes allies, sometimes adversaries.

The SCP Foundation leaned toward controlling and containing anomalies, with the motto: We Secure, We Contain, We Protect.

Whereas the GOC aimed to exterminate all anomalies, with the motto: Protecting humanity, whether they like it or not.

Due to the GOC's wariness of the SCP Foundation harboring numerous anomalies in containment, relations between the two were extremely tense.

Their overt hostility and extreme measures often led to unnecessary casualties.

However, the two sides did cooperate occasionally, especially when facing catastrophic-level anomalies that threatened both secrecy and survival.

For example, the Apotheosis of the Broken God event that occurred in many parallel realities.

Led by the Church of the Broken God, it was one of the largest anomaly outbreaks in history, carrying a small chance of entirely overthrowing humanity's dominance and bringing about the apocalypse.

More often than not, this event would be jointly handled by the GOC and the SCP Foundation.

Of course, all these events occurred in non-primary parallel realities.

Due to the occurrence of O, Death (SCP-2935) and the Foreordained Fate incident, the Foundation had managed to obtain a vast amount of intel from Parallel Reality.

Which included information on the GOC.

But in truth, in the primary world, the GOC simply didn't exist.

When anomalies began to erupt on a large scale, the SCP Foundation rose up in full force.

Almost all previous supernatural organizations were suppressed, eliminated, or brought under control.

The Foundation unquestionably established its dominance in the primary world.

And with their ironclad policies of secrecy and containment, there was virtually no room for other large supernatural organizations to be born.

The Global Occult Coalition was thus smothered in the cradle.

Since the primary world had no such organization…

It seemed this Origami Tobiichi was from a parallel reality.

Moreover, Miku seemed to know Origami Tobiichi's identity—and harbored animosity toward her.

This spirit was also likely from a parallel reality.

No wonder there had been no prior information about Miku.

With her cognition-distorting abilities, if she had been active frequently, the Foundation would've already invited her over for "tea."

Now that he understood this, Haruto felt at ease.

Since the two weren't deliberately stirring trouble, this would be easier to handle.

He picked up the coffee cup and took a sip.

Run by the Foundation, the café was surprisingly high quality.

Even someone like Haruto, who wasn't particularly fond of coffee, could appreciate its rich, fragrant flavor.

He set the cup down.

Haruto tapped his fingers rhythmically on the tabletop, exuding an air of strategizing.

Combined with his current appearance, this made him incredibly charming.

Even though they were both technically "girls," Miku and Origami couldn't help but be drawn to him.

"So what about you?"

Haruto turned his gaze toward Miku.

Miku hesitated for a moment before speaking in a low voice,

"My name is Miku Izayoi. I'm a 'Spirit.'"

Rather than having Origami expose her, it was better to admit it herself.

Besides, judging by the person in front of her—whom she had developed feelings for—this wasn't an ordinary human either.

As for why she didn't just use her powers to control them both…

If she could, Miku definitely would've done so.

Unfortunately…

She had already clashed with the Global Occult Coalition in the past.

In their last encounter, the enemy forces were equipped with something called "GOC Anti-Diva Armor."

This armor could instantly deploy across the body, forming a type of pseudo-astral armor.

It also generated a special field that completely isolated Spirit power.

Miku's powers were no exception.

And purely in terms of destructive capability, her Angel weapon was actually on the weaker side among Spirits.

Last time, she was nearly killed by the GOC.

Now, with Origami chasing her, she was undoubtedly equipped with the same kind of armor.

Upon hearing Miku's confession, Haruto nodded slightly.

"My name is Yuriko Suzushina. I'm a special investigator of the SCP Foundation, designation O5-1."

The reactions of the two girls were quite different.

Miku was surprised, but then it all made sense.

When she stumbled into this world—which looked similar but was clearly different—she had tried to gather intel.

Yet she came up empty.

No sign of the GOC. No mention of the SCP Foundation. As if nothing existed.

Before Haruto showed up, she had even assumed this world had no anomalies. That was why she dared to use her powers so freely.

But now…

It wasn't that anomalies didn't exist—it was that the controlling force was even more powerful, and far more difficult to contact.

Origami, on the other hand, looked thoroughly confused.

Though the silver-haired girl remained expressionless, her eyes were full of bewilderment.

She knew about the SCP Foundation, even understood some of its internal structure.

As two major supernatural organizations, it was only natural for the GOC and SCP to have exchanged some information.

Origami knew what the designation O5-1 meant.

It signified a seat on the Foundation's highest decision-making body—the ultra-secretive O5 Council.

The GOC had once spent massive manpower and resources trying to uncover the identity of even one O5.

All had failed.

In Origami's mind, O5 members were never supposed to be identified.

Seeing her reaction, Haruto smiled wryly.

"Miss Origami Tobiichi, it seems you haven't realized yet that you've crossed into a different parallel reality—a completely new world. You might have knowledge of the SCP Foundation, but in this world, some of your assumptions will need to be re-evaluated."

Hearing this, Origami immediately reached for her waist.

A silver-white ring popped out and attached itself to her wrist.

She quickly began swiping on it.

After a few tries, she gave up.

Clearly, there was no signal.

And no surprise there.

Unless the GOC from her parallel world had developed interdimensional communication tech, there was no way she could receive a signal here.

Even the Foundation in this primary world had only just begun to explore and develop such technology.

Without contact with her alliance, Origami looked visibly lost.

She had been assigned to locate and eliminate the Spirit known as "Diva."

After detecting the Spirit's signal, she had rushed over.

But along the way, she hadn't realized she had gone completely out of communication range.

After all, the surrounding world didn't look all that different from the one she knew.

Seeing the confusion on her face, Haruto instinctively reached out and gently ruffled her silver hair.

Feeling his warm touch…

Origami closed her eyes and leaned into his hand.

Both of them felt this interaction was perfectly natural.

Because in their minds, there was already a deep sense of familiarity.

In other words, their base affection level was extremely high—many "routes" were already unlocked.

However…

Watching this unfold, Miku Izayoi's teeth were practically grinding into dust.

She was the one who came first!

Seeing the two on the verge of even deeper intimacy…

Miku couldn't take it anymore. She slammed the table and stood up.

Origami instantly reacted.

She pressed a finger to the white halo on her wrist.

A layer of silver-white armor rapidly expanded and equipped itself onto her body.

The main armor looked more like a skin-tight combat suit.

There were modules attached to her back—likely power sources that had originally been stored in her utility belt. And in her hands, she now held two silver-white pistols—both aimed directly at Miku.

If not for Haruto's presence…

Origami would have already activated her field and opened fire on the Spirit before her.

After all, her mission was to eliminate anomalies.

And more importantly, she harbored a deep, personal hatred for Spirit-kind.
