Chapter 299 - 299 So much for a thousand-year gap! [200PS]

"A faster way to deal with the defense systems? Miss Kagura, I'm not quite following,"

Princess Shurei looked confused.

"You're not thinking of hacking into the building's automated defense systems, are you?"

"Hmm?" Kagura put her hands on her hips and flashed a confident smile. "Why not?"

"Miss Kagura, you can't be serious!" Shurei suddenly panicked. "I don't know what level of hacking you're planning to attempt, but I should remind you."

"Wakanda's most advanced cybersecurity systems are integrated into this building!"

She pointed at the surrounding walls, indicating the many alarm sensors embedded within.

"Right now, we're in the entrance hall, where the security is a bit lighter. After all, this area is occasionally open for public tours."

"But even so, if your stealth suits or my cloaking device weren't calibrated for infiltration mode, the alarms would've already gone off."

"Even the world's best thief couldn't escape these sensors."

Then, she pointed toward a long corridor ahead.

"The entrance hall is still manageable it only have a basic alarms system and maybe, maybe, you could bypass them through hacking."

"But beyond that? It's a whole different story. The systems inside operate on a negative feedback loop."

"Forget sneaking in—any attempt to hack in will trigger an alert instantly!"

"Oh? Is that so?" Kagura didn't look the least bit worried. If anything, she seemed intrigued by the explanation.

A negative feedback system—one of the trickiest alarm types to bypass.

Most systems operate on positive feedback: sensors detect unauthorized activity, triggering an alert. Simple.

Negative feedback, on the other hand, works differently.

These systems constantly emit signals in a regular rhythm to verify they're functioning correctly—like a cradle gently rocking a sleeping baby.

If that rhythm is ever interrupted or tampered with, the system assumes something's wrong—and the alarm goes off.

Just like a baby waking up crying when the cradle suddenly stops.

"A negative feedback system, huh? Quite sophisticated," Kagura nodded.

"But that's alright. I can handle the alarms. I can handle the automated defense systems too."

"As long as I can gain full access to the building's internal systems, we won't need to worry about alerts at all, right?"

She said it so casually that Princess Shurei was stunned.

"Either way, wouldn't it be faster to just disable the entire defense network than waste time sneaking through?"

"But… but that's impossible!" Shurei protested. "Miss Kagura, this is Wakanda we're talking about!"

She stood her ground.

"Even Ultron's processing power couldn't guarantee taking over this building's systems without triggering the alarm. I just don't see how we could break through the defenses."

Kagura smiled.

"Oh, don't worry, Princess Shurei. Leave this to me. I'll show you an electronic attack method so advanced, even Wakanda has never seen anything like it!"

Indeed, Wakanda's technology far surpasses the rest of the world.

Maybe it's not literally a thousand years ahead but in terms of cybersecurity and electronic tech, Wakanda confidently dominates every other nation.

Back when Ultron hijacked the global internet, Wakanda was the only country that went untouched.

Even Ultron couldn't breach Wakanda's defenses outright—he had to rely on the Avengers acting as an unknowing Trojan horse to infiltrate from the inside.

But Kagura was an exception.

Her skills and technology didn't come from any human civilization.

If Wakanda was a thousand years ahead of the world… then what Kagura wielded was beyond time itself—infinite.

Seeing the disbelief still written all over Shurei's face, Kagura gently patted her shoulder.

"Princess, trust me—just this once, okay? I'm not the kind of girl who lets people down."

Still clearly skeptical, Shurei frowned.

"Miss Kagura… if we fail here, Ultron may discover our operation ahead of schedule. That could doom our entire mission to reclaim the capital."

"The fate of humanity could be at stake!"

"I understand." Kagura nodded, her tone turning serious. "That's why I promise you—I won't fail."

'Like I'd let that happen!'

'Tony Stark is still trapped by Ultron. This mission isn't just important—it's personal.'

Then let's begin.

Kagura focused her mind.

[Core Skill Initialization: Standby]

[Sub-Core Energy: 100%]

[All Systems: Operational]

[Activating Core Skill: Neural Dive]

To ensure success, she didn't rely on her basic "Standard Electronic Hacking" concept skill.

Instead, she went all in activating her core ability: Neural Dive, a skill that allows her to control electronic systems unconditionally.

Her silver-haired body trembled slightly.

A golden glow lit up in her eyes.

In the next moment, Kagura's consciousness detached from her physical form and slipped into the internal systems of Wakanda's capital defense center—like a digital phantom.

The building's systems were air-gapped—completely isolated from the outside world, which was why even Shurei's high-level access didn't work inside.

Because of this, not even Ultron the king of cyber warfare could detect Kagura's intrusion.

He had no way of mounting a counterattack.

Within seconds, Kagura's consciousness had spread throughout the building.

She now had complete control.

The complex internal network unfolded before her like a digital galaxy, a universe of lights and data swirling in her mind's eye.

It felt just like the first time she hacked an ATM in New York City years ago.

Except back then, she had only touched the city's financial system. This was far more intricate.

Wakanda tech truly lived up to its reputation.

Just the shield generator's security system alone rivaled the complexity of New York's entire banking network.

But no matter how complex, it couldn't stop Kagura once she'd activated Neural Dive.

[Electronic System Control: Confirmed and Complete]

Now, she could do anything—remotely trigger automated weapons hidden within the walls, bypass all initiation protocols and fire at Natasha or Shurei.

She could even manually activate the alarm and plunge the entire capital into a red alert.

Of course, Kagura would never actually do that. It's not like she was some evil supervillain out to destroy everything.

"Alright, I've now gained full control of every system inside this building," she said calmly.

"That includes the alarm network you mentioned and the automated defense weapons. I've even taken over the external alarm lines."

She smiled, looking quite pleased with herself.

"Wakanda's top-tier security systems really live up to the hype!"

"The complexity is downright terrifying. Not to mention all the hidden digital traps."

"A regular hacker would've been completely outmatched—no way they'd make it out in one piece."

"Uh... th-thanks for the compliment, I guess?" Shurei mumbled, clearly unsure how to respond.

"Anyway," she continued, "could you disable the alarm system, then? Let's head up to the energy emitter for the shield."

"Roger that! Alarm system: disabled."

"Automated defense turrets: offline. Motion-triggered traps: neutralized! Ladies, the path is now clear!" Kagura beamed. "Shall we take a leisurely stroll upstairs, like we're just out shopping?"

"…What is she?" Shurei muttered under her breath, staring in disbelief. "No, seriously—can she even still be called human? What kind of monster is this woman…?"

How could she so effortlessly turn Wakanda's most advanced electronic defense system into her personal plaything in mere seconds?

And if someone as overwhelmingly powerful as Kagura still couldn't match Ultron… then just how terrifying was Ultron?

Does Wakanda… truly have a future?

Are we really the nation that's a thousand years ahead of the rest of the world?

Because honestly… it feels more like the one who's a thousand years ahead—is Kagura herself.
