CHAPTER 96
********
Liam's POV
I didn't know how long I'd been here. Not really. Ever since Kaelith dragged me into this cage, everything had faded into a blur. Time felt distorted—twisted. All I knew for certain was that it had been four hours since I last heard from anyone.
And the cage? It was small. Brutally small. The kind of cage meant for dogs, not people. I couldn't move, couldn't stretch my legs. I was crammed inside it, knees pressed tightly to my chest, my arms folded in an awkward lock. Every joint screamed. My muscles ached from the unnatural position. I was drenched in sweat, my clothes clinging to my skin, and the only thing I could feel was pain—pure, gnawing pain that radiated through every inch of me. The kind of pain that makes you want to crawl out of your own body.
But I told myself I could endure it. Just two more hours. I could survive two more hours.
