Chapter 103 - Welcome To Our New Home

Their moods sour, they quietly entered the carriage. As the slightly bumpy carriage ride continued on, they sat in silence, their faces ashen. At Duncan's dark revelation, anger brewed within them, the silence inside the carriage the greatest indicator of their collective rage. The only noise came from the cracking of Titus's fists.

Their anger was so great that the carriage itself got shrouded in a black miasma, scaring the shit out of anything that stared at it for too long.

The coachman, already scared shitless, gulped down visibly. He did not know why his customers were mad, but couldn't they at least tone it down?!

You do know these clothes are not cheap at all, especially since they are customised straight from the tailors of Silvertree Corporation!

Just when everything seemed doomed, and there was no hope left for him, he soon spotted it.

A large tract of land, filled with tall, dry grass, covered as far as the eye could see. Swinging in the warm, autumn-like air, they danced serenely, lazing through the air, as if they had no worries in life. The warm sunlight glinted through the top of the grass, giving a homely feeling to whoever saw it.

They had finally arrived

And good riddance! I nearly crapped my last pair of good pants. These ain't cheap, y'know, boss!

Silence pregnant through the air, the group kept quiet, shocked to their very cores. The third form of slavery boiled their blood in anger, for they could not believe the lengths people would go to just to have cheap beast-man slaves.

Unable to stand any longer, Goblina stood up, expressing her outrage. "Can't the people do something about it!?"

Whilst not saying anything, Titus's clenched fists expressed his stance as well. Seeing both of his companions visibly upset at the revelation, Duncan couldn't help but sigh. "You think we don't want to!? Many people have tried to dismantle this whole shitshow of a system, but they all ended up disappearing. There have been conspiracy theories that the Sarkosec Empire is behind a majority of these attacks, but no proof has been given so far..."

"But either way–"

"Boss, we have reached our destination!"

Hearing this, though they did not realise it, all of them let out their bated breaths.

Looking out the window, Celine was amazed, gasping at the sight of the golden grass flowing through the wind. "Wow! So beautiful..." Even Goblina agreed with her statement, unable to take her eyes off the golden plains.

"Why Grandem...?"

Here, Lewis spoke the important question that was on all their minds. Looking at their confused expressions, he could not help but explain to them why he brought them here.

"Grandem is one of the very few flat lands left that the Church of Light has not yet conquered. We try to build a rocket to the Moon, and the next thing we know is that the Inquisition comes to our doors, sword at our necks. Anyone who tries to create any form of advanced technology will be labelled as heretics and followers of the Demon God. The only reason Grandem is safe is because of what happened 500 years ago..."

While everyone was captivated by Duncan's knowledge, nobody noticed a certain Orc clenching his fists tighter than ever...
