Elisa took a deep sigh, lowering her head down, feeling the weight of the entire world resting on her shoulders. She was at a loss for words as she glanced at Noel besides her.
"Please, aunty Elisa… don't say no." Noel's voice was barely a whisper, yet its intensity struck a chord deep within her.
Elisa's heart softened as he paused, gathering his courage.
"Alright then, if I'm to go on my knees to beg you, then fine."
With unwavering resolve, he stood up and knelt in front of Elisa, his hands folded in an earnest plea. The innocence radiating from his wide eyes seemed to envelop her, making her chest tighten with an overwhelming sense of affection.
"Why do you want him to come so badly?" she asked softly, not quite ready to give in yet.
"He's lonely outside there, and it's unfair to him," Noel replied, his voice barely more than a breath against the breeze.
