Chapter 56 - Chapter 56

Cashew was currently looking at the cave in his Wood Golems suffered while he was away.

Ordering two of his Wood Golems to get the Wood cutting axe and Battle axe and cut down some trees, Cashew also ordered Billie Nelson to start clearing some of the rocks.

Cashew: Assuming the wood Golems weren't crushed in the cave in, I do hope they didn't continue digging deeper... Wait, if they did, then were would they put the Stone mined up?

While they was doing that, Cashew examined the Core of his destroyed Stone Golem, examining the damage and looking to see how salvageable it is.

Cashew: Hm... The damage isn't too bad, but... I'm not sure that can be saved... How would I even fix that?

As Cashew thought, he decided to look around and see if he can find the rest of the core that was blown away, which, aside from a few big chunks, he couldn't find the rest.

Cashew: Hm... What if I reassemble the Core like a puzzle piece? Put the pieces where they should be and hope the Stone Golem can rebuild its core after a bit...

Deciding to put the plan into play, Cashew rebuilt the Stone Golem Core with the pieces he found and placed some more stone near the core, so it can use it as fuel to rebuild itself.

After finishing the Core as much as he could, he waited... And waited... And waited...

The core wasn't rebuilding itself. It didn't even react in any way. It was no different than regular Stone.

Cashew: hm... Maybe it needs assistance?

He wondered as he placed his hand on the Core and injected some Mana into it.

BOOM!

As soon as Cashew injected Mana into the core, it exploded, sending Cashew flying several meters in the air like a cartoon

Only thing that's not Cartoon like is how gore-y it is. His back was to the castle walls and when it exploded, it sent him flying backwards, his body being ripped in half after hitting the top edge of the wall. Leaving his legs to plop down next to the wall while his upper body was still flying.

His upper body was being cut and smashed by tree branches as he started to get closer to the ground, eventually slamming into the ground completely, breaking more bones.

Cashews lower body from the hips down and his right arm were missing entirely, he was lying on the ground, his conscious long gone, and Billie Nelson running over Frantically.

Billie Nelson was looking around hurriedly, if it was human, you'd see beads of sweat dripping down its face in nervousness.

He was trying to find Cashews missing body parts, unaware that Cashews legs and hips are inside the Fortress wall, and Cashews Right arm is next to the door to enter the fortress, as that's the direction it went flying when it was blown off.

Woodie Nelson came rushing forward with the most panicked expression a Wood Golem is capable of, holding Cashews lower half, the two of them were hurriedly placing cashews upper and lower halves together, pushing them closer when Cashews regeneration didn't kick in fast enough, blue sure enough, tendrils started to come out of Cashews two halves, grabbing onto each other and pulling themselves together.

You can't tell due to the lack of face muscles or ability to express emotions, but the Billie Nelson and Woodie Nelson breathed a sigh of relief when Cashews body started to repair itself, with the exception of his arm, which sent the Golems into a new frenzy of trying to find his missing arm.

20 minutes. It took 20 minutes for Cashews upper and lower half to rebuild itself and heal. The Golems still couldn't find his missing arm, but Cashews biggest wound was healed.

1 hour. It took Cashew an entire hour to finally wake up on his own. His Golems were never able to find his missing arm, no matter how much they looked.

Cashew: Ugh.... That hurt...

Cashew attempted to put his right hand on his head only to realize it's missing.

Cashew: Huh... My arm is missing. I hope it didn't turn into powder from the explosion. I'm right handed. I need that arm. I may have been left handed in the previous life, but I'm Right handed in this one.

Cashew slowly got up, having a hard time thanks to the explosion and loss of an arm, but he was eventually able to get to his feet and start heading back into the fortress.

Re-entering the fortress, Cashew immediately Noticed his missing arm near the door to enter the fortress. He immediately rushed over to it and pressed the two stumps together, letting the regeneration reattwch his arm.

A little less than a minute later, Cashews arms was back! But... His entire index finger was gone and half of his pinky was gone.

Cashew: who knows how long I was unconscious, but I'm absolutely confident a bird or rodent managed to get my fingers by now. So let's hope they are small enough to regenerate on their own.

Turning his attention to the Golem Core he was trying to repair... That turned to dust. The entire thing exploded. That Golem is gone for good.

Cashew: 2 of my Stone Golems are dead... Oh yeah, one of them is still incased in ice. Let's see how much of the Ice melted.

Cashew ordered his Golems to go back to clearing the Rubble in the cave and went inside his fortress, the Stone Golem remains are still there and the Ice is just about melted.

Cashew Approached the Core and without hesitation, injected Mana into it, luckily, this one didn't also explode as the Core wasn't damaged, before long, this Golem came back to life.

Cashew: Welcome Back!

Cashew said to the Golem he neglected to revive for almost 2 months. The Golem looked at him with an expression he can't read.

Cashew: I'm... Not sure how to carry on... Giving you new orders seems... Inappropriate right now, so... You can do as you please for the time being.

The Golem didn't react at all. It just stood there, looking at Cashew.

Cashew: Uhm...

Stone Golem: *Stares intently*

Cashew: Er... I'm sorry? I was waiting for the ice to melt. I was afraid to break it out of fear your core would shatter too.

The Stone Golem continued to look at Cashew for a few moments before stepping around Cashew and exiting the Fortress to the courtyard/training grounds.

Cashew breathed a sigh of relief "Wow. I'm glad the lie worked. I genuinely forgot about him" Cashew thought to himself.

Cashew: Ok. So... While waiting for the Wood Golems to be recovered, I'm gonna try to enchant a spell into a Crystal and implant that Crystal onto a Stone Golem. Give them offensive ranged attacks. I also want to give them a defensive spells as well, but I don't have any earth based Defensive spells.

Grabbing a Crystal, Cashew pulled out his Rune Spellbook and started drawing a rune onto the Crystal. This was quite difficult thanks to his missing fingers, but not undoable.

The Spell was "Earthen Rock". Which is basically a spell that allows you to throw a rock at your opponent. You don't really need a spell for that, but it allows you to conjure up a rock if there are none, as well as change its shape and throw it at a faster speed than what your arms can do.

Cashew feels like that spell is perfect for a Stone Golem. Another spell he wants to give the Stone Golems is "Earthen Wall" which raises a wall up from the ground to block projectiles.

Cashew has "Ice Wall", which is the same as Earthen Wall, but Ice instead of Rock, but he wants to keep the spells in theme with the Golems.

30 minutes later and Cashew had a Crystal enchanted with "Earthen Rock". He immediately headed outside and looked for the Golem that was frozen for the past two months. Finding the Golem in question, Cashew stopped in front of him.

Cashew: Hi!... I have an apology gift for you... It's a Crystal with a Spell enchanted on it. If I implant the Crystal in you, then you'll have ranged offensive capabilities.

The other Stone Golem and Billie Nelson heard this and looked at Cashew, they didn't have very expressive faces, but you could tell they were feeling shocked and betrayed by the preferential treatment the new Golems was getting.

Cashew noticed the stares and turned to look at them.

Cashew: You two will get one too. I'm just giving this one one first.

The betrayed looks didn't pass, they continued to stare.

Cashew: Fine! Ill go in, make two more, and give all 3 of you one at the same time!

Is this what it's like having a harem? Constant jealousy -... Wait, I have a harem of Stone Golems?" Cashew thought in his head.

He was not enjoying the thought of getting a Harem of Magical constructs.

"come to think of it... All my Golems seem much more intelligent than they should be and much more attached to me than you'd expect." He wondered.

"Oh God, what if my 'OP quirk/ability' is my summons being smarter than everyone else's?" Cashews mind thought of the idea and didn't enjoy it. Instead of having Infinite Mana or a system, he has Smart summons... He feels cheated.

Of course, this would all rely on him being a fictional character, which he isn't, but it doesn't explain why his Golems are smart... Or maybe all Golems are smart and he just expected them to be dumb.

Cashew headed back into his Fortress, made two more Crystals with "Earthen Rock" enchanted on them, and came out.

Cashew: There! You happy? All 3 of you will get 1 now.

The Stone Golems seemed happy, they even had what can be assumed as a "Prideful" walk as they came over to Cashew for the Crystals, extending a hand for Cashew to hand it to them.

Cashew: Wait, you don't need help? You can implement these Crystals on your own?

The Golems didn't respond and were more aggressive in their hand gestures of asking Cashew to hand the Crystals over.

Cashew was surprised and handed them over. All 3 Stone Golems absorbed the Crystals into their hands. Cashew couldn't tell if the crystals were still there or if they... Melted into them, but the crystals were gone now.

"The Golems really are smart... Or maybe this is just instinct for them?" Cashew pondered.

He watched the Golems absorb the Crystals and waited for them to appear finished. When they did, they immediately walked away, going back to what they were doing.

Cashew: Ok, fine! Be that way... I wasn't gonna ask you to cast the spell anyways...

He said with a tear in his eye, the Golems didn't even react, all 3 of them going to the cave and continuing to clear out the stones from the cave in.

Right around this moment, The chopped down tree trunks were getting pretty large. There were about 20 Trees outside the front gate. The two Wood Golems were working together and when they came back with one more tree, Cashew stopped them from getting more.

Cashew told the Wood Golems to cut all the branches off the trees, after that, he taught them how to cut the tree trunks into beams that can be used as support for cave. Which they all did. Cashew wasn't planning to use all the wood for Mine shaft support.

Cashew: It's been a while since I last ate. The Dragon Meat increasing my appetite was helpful.

Cashew then started moving Stone away from the exploded Core. The one Golem Core caused a mini pit to form in the ground, and Cashew was gonna use that for fire fuel to cook with.
