Bel and Novaria stood near the edge of the burning path carved through the forest. Now that this matter was settled, it was time to leave.
Novaria turned her head slightly and glanced back at the frozen figures of the expedition party.
"My lord," she asked softly, "don't you plan on turning them into dragons as well? To grow your army?"
Bel didn't look back.
"The process isn't that simple," he replied. "Turning someone into one of my soldiers has a risk of killing them outright. The safest way is to use one of my abilities, but I'm still learning how to control it. It's... complicated."
He looked at his hand.
"For now, the only reliable method is through my blood. So, for now, I want to test multiple methods before making anything else permanent."
Novaria nodded, then looked at the group again with a soft smile.
"I see... It's a little sad for them. So, thank you. For choosing me."
