She knelt down to my level and looked me in the eyes. "Don't worry I'll buy you the dress next time. I promise"
When she was done she got up looked at me and gave a little wink. From that gesture I knew it was time. I went into full outburst mode. I started crying loudly and fighting my mother.
"I want that dress!", I screamed at her.
Now all eyes were on us. My mother grabbed me quickly and held me firmly, lifting me. I squirmed in her arms wanting to get the dress.
My mother looked around embarrassed. "Sorry." she said to the people in the store. They felt bad for her. She made her way to the exit of the store where the guard was standing. He was supposed to check customers shopping bags to see if the goods they bought matched their receipts. However because I being a problematic child and causing a scene in the store, the guard felt sorry for my mother and let her go.
