Kieran's POV
I watched in awe as Sienna stepped through the tear in reality. But this wasn't the Sienna I knew. Her eyes glowed blood-red, and power rolled off her in waves that I could feel against my skin.
"Sienna?" I called again, stumbling to my feet despite my wounds.
The shadow animals that had been attacking us suddenly froze. Then, one by one, they turned toward her, their many eyes fixed on her glowing form.
"What's happening?" Ronan asked, limping to my side.
Before I could answer, the shadows attacked—not us, but Sienna. They rushed toward her like a black tidal wave.
I tried to move, to help her, but my body wouldn't answer. I'd lost too much blood.
Then something incredible happened. Sienna raised one hand, and fire—ruby-red and blinding—erupted from her fingers. The shadows screamed as they burned away to nothing.
"She's... different," Caius said, appearing beside us. His old ritual had failed, but he was still standing.
