Another Alpha female teacher who could be mistaken for a man at first glance—spoke up.
"Teacher Rose is rich too. They're a perfect match!"
The others nodded in unison. After all, Miss Rose was excellent in everything. She had become a teacher at a young age.
Rose Sallow came from a wealthy second generation family, but she didn't like to show off her wealth.
She wasn't arrogant either, which is why everyone liked her. Even though she came off as quiet and straightforward, she was both rich and smart.
The male beta asked while scooping food onto his plate, "When are they getting married, though?"
The female teacher with brown hair answered, "I heard it's sometime this month?"
The other teachers made an "O" shape with their mouths in surprise.
Soren and Sora looked at Hyacinth at the same time, noticing that she had suddenly gone quiet again. She realized they were both staring at her, so she smiled and said calmly that she was okay and didn't mind at all.
Still, both of them looked worried. They wanted to leave already, so they gently pulled Hyacinth—and the one who had been staring off into the distance.
Aurora had been watching Freya earlier. Freya was wearing a classy, ladylike suit, and Aurora couldn't help but admire her beauty.
Freya, sensing someone's gaze, looked up—and saw Aurora. Their eyes met. Freya gave her a faint smile, then turned back to face forward and continued eating.
Wait... I shouldn't be staring at someone like that. It's rude. She wanted to go over and thank her, but before she could, Sora pulled her away.
Aurora noticed that the three of them were quiet the entire way. She had overheard the conversation about Rose Sallow the female lead. But honestly, she didn't care about that character, even though she used to be obsessed with her when she was younger.
Back then, Aurora was really into the cold CEO or tsundere type of personality. The younger version of herself would've been completely hooked if the female lead had a "hard to get" attitude.
She had been head over heels for that kind of character even if all they did was roll their eyes or scoff, she'd fall for them instantly. Even though Rose Sallow was clearly toxic, younger Aurora saw her through rose colored glasses.
Can you really blame her? She was really good looking, okay?
But as she got older, she realized something the women she used to be head over heels for didn't actually have any real personality.
They all followed the same recycled character types—cold CEO, aloof ice beauty, classic tsundere. It was the same formula, just with different faces.
She had been drawn in because that's the kind of personality she'd been conditioned to like from watching and reading those kinds of stories over and over.
So, in the end, she started to fall for fictional female characters who seemed sweet and obedient on the surface but turned out to be secretly evil. That kind of twist—that kind of character arc was what fascinated her.
Would she actually want to date a woman like that in real life? Probably not. She was only drawn to that type of character in fiction—not in reality.
They left the cafeteria, and Sora couldn't help but sigh in relief. She glanced at Hyacinth, who looked like she had a storm cloud hanging over her head—her entire vibe practically screamed Bad Mood in bold, flashing letters.
Sora and Soren exchanged a glance, silently agreeing on what needed to be done. Then, without a word, they both nudged Aurora forward.
Aurora blinked, confused. "Huh? Where exactly are we going?"
Sora grinned mischievously. "You'll see."
With a dramatic flourish, she pulled out a fake ID. The picture on it was clearly Aurora—the only difference was the birth year was different. Just enough to legally pass for twenty one.
Aurora stared at it, stunned. "Is this... legal?"
Before she could finish her thought, Soren—calm and composed like a professor giving a lecture reached into her bag and pulled out a folded document. She handed it to Aurora with a straight face.
It was a guide, handwritten with neat bullet points, titled How to Fake Your Age and Not Get Caught. It explained everything—how to match your makeup and clothes to look more mature, how to avoid suspicious behavior, what to say if someone asks too many questions, and of course, how to memorize the fake birthdate on your ID.
At the bottom, it even listed bars known for rarely checking too hard.
"Trust me," Soren said, adjusting her glasses—which she somehow pulled out of nowhere. "I've done the research."
Aurora couldn't help but be dumbfounded.
Seriously? Is this even going to work?
Look at Hyacinth—she looked really sad after hearing the news. She was probably feeling confused and wondering what she did wrong or why she wasn't good enough.
And without even realizing it, Aurora had hit the mark. Hyacinth was overthinking.
She was deeply hurt. She had fallen for that person—truly, seriously in love. Yet the one she used to secretly look down on, the one she humiliated in her own mind, was the one who ended up being chosen instead of her.
Looking back at that so called hypocrisy man, Hyacinth couldn't stop herself from making comparison after comparison. She was prettier. She was more talented. She had more money, more connections—wasn't she the better choice?
So why not her?
