Chapter 12 - SUN?

'The face of the sun is not without expression'

THIRD PERSON'S POV

Dal-min was pacing around Ha-Jun's room holding the little note he had left him and the pendant on his other free hand trying to dig into his memory to see if he could find anything. "I feel like I have seen this before" he thought while biting his nails "I don't know where though" pacing around for more seconds he stopped and quickly ran down the stairs and took out a few boxes that had books in them more like forbidden books.

It was all rusty and dusty but he didn't mind, he poured out everything and flipped all the books to see if he found any similar scribblings, almost giving up the last book finally answered his questions. These are all his grandfather's old findings, the man used to do a lot of research and little Dal-min didn't understand by then. Flipping through more pages he came across the letters, the same similar scribblings with their meanings. He got a pen and a paper and noted down the meaning of the four symbols, though it did take time he wondered what if it was a long letter he would have grown old trying to understand the meaning behind it. But in the end it was worth and he finally put the words together which read:

Σ (Selene's grace)

Λ (my regretful heart)

Ψ (echoes in the silent craters)

Ξ (seeking forgiveness)

"Selene's grace, my regretful heart echoes in the silent craters seeking forgiveness" Dal-min read out loud and his face burned hot to how the simple meaning made him feel. "Oh my he's so cute he was apologizing" he facepalmed slumping down on the floor.

"I shouldn't have shouted at him" he regretted. He took the pendant and understood it was his apology, he smiled and now everything was making sense to him like the puzzle had automatically arranged itself.

Who writes that kind of language?

It's a foreign language and no one from here knows a thing about it and Ha-Jun suddenly wrote it "it can't be researched because what's the meaning of the pendant again? he looked over his small table and took a small note book he'd written on something earlier as he was trying to investigate Ha-Jun without him knowing.

He was doing research on the Lunar eclipse and the sun in general and he thought it was absurd that his grandpa mentioned something about the 'suryans' people who live on the sun, he remembers his little self laughing out loud like something like that is bizarre and would never happen "it's hot they won't survive" his little brain reasoned, Dal-min laughed at the memory but he was a believer he knew miracles happen he was sure of that.

Ha-Jun was suspicious to him, more like special suspicious because he met him after the eclipse and right under the full moon "I knew he had something on him" he congratulated himself, so apparently it's the language Suryans speak, Lunarian and Ha-Jun....he takes a big gulp and stood up "I can't believe he is a Suryan" he figures as he jumps at the discovery like a little kid because he's grown to research not field work and now he gets to see one real up close, that happens once in a billion years.

"I wonder what brings him to earth" Dal-min says a little too enthusiastic and excited for some reasons as he picks out his black cloak and a few things "no wonder he was so dumb the first time we saw each other" he puts on his boots "wait, where did he go now, he said he wanted to look for something" Dal-min for a moment pauses at the doorway "he's dumb and can't absolutely fight either, oh no" he makes a quick run out seeming to feel Ha-Jun might have got himself in trouble.

HA-JUN'S POV

I have been walking for what now, hours? Ages? All I did was walk and walk without stop "sucks to be a human" i groaned to myself as i looked at the highway quite far from me realizing humans do have transportation of their own technology looking at cars going over speed but I unfortunately took the forest roads "I feel a shortcut around here" I knew I would reach here sooner than that car or whatever, I shrugged while continuing my journey.

I started exactly before the sun rose I know it was so early but maybe I just couldn't wait, if I get my ring back I'll come and say goodbye properly to Dal-min, I kept in mind. But right now I had to move I have wasted a lot of time doing nothing now is the time. I didn't have much with me except my book that i so hid it in the depth of the coat I had worn, so the journey is a bit easier for me.

Am already so hungry and sweating a lot, earth life is so hard, I sat down in the shed to take a small rest as I face the mountains opposite me am sure there is a cliff up ahead and also no food near, I groan in tiredness "I should've carried some of Dal-min's food" I can't help than smile at the thought his food is the best but I frown immediately "though I made him cry, the least person that was so kind to me" I throw away the nearby stones before deciding to pick up my pace again because thoughts are only drowning me.

Again for the next few hours all I do is walk up ahead, I'm hungry and tired but can't stop but at least I can take water, I notice the lake is just nearby, lucky me!

I gulp so much water like I was starving for months and wash my hair and face that's so relaxing. Not far away I also noticed a small hut, smoke coming from it and wondered if there is someone living there, I mean it's just in the middle of the forest, so I looked.

The moment I stood in front of it an older woman came out with a smile on her face "your here child" she spoke like she was waiting for me, her eyes were white her clothes old and worn out. She's definitely blind too. "I made you something come eat" she invited me in. I know I am selfish or stupid but am so hungry and can't say no she might have mistaken me for someone else. So I nodded and walked in dumbly.

She's blind but she makes good food and set her plates nicely, weird. I ate to my fullest without a word, I could feel my energy back in me and I think am now ready to get back to my way. "thanks for the food grandma" I thanked her, I knew by now she would be surprised that it was a stranger that she fed and freak out but she only smiled "I promise I'll pay you back" I fumbled with my pockets to see if I get anything but she stopped me, "pay me after your mission" that made me halt, how did she know? It's like she read my mind "Prince Ha-Jun I know everything" she smiled kindly at me again "who are you?" I asked "a guardian who'll be here for you when necessary" she smiled patting my shoulder and walking away "shouldn't you be on your way" I was pulled out of my thoughts as I made my way out "thanks grandma" she only smiled and watched me walk off. By the moment I looked back again there was nothing at all just trees, I smiled and looked up "thank you mother" with that I continued my journey.

When the sun set that evening i could feel the ring closer, I was finally here I felt it even more powerful than before it's really here, it almost brought me to tears. I walked more closely and I was faced with the same abandoned house from my memories I could vividly remember and I knew I was In the right place.

Without any plan or anything I made my way there immediately two buff guys stopped me, think I can't be buff too? "State your purpose?" he asked with an annoyed voice "I came for my stuff" for some reason I don't think I should say what it is "were you sent?" I quickly shook my head "of course not- hey what are you doing!" two of them held my arms from both sides trapping me "take him to the dungeons" he ordered and I was carried away as I shouted "I only want my staff then I'll go away" they didn't listen to what I had to say at all.

'What's wrong with humans!'

I tried to struggle from them but I know it would be foolish to use my strength right now by the looks of it I'll need it later. Trying to struggle a pain flicked at the back of my head and the next moment I saw darkness...
