The search continued...
Julio was already getting pissed that the detective had delayed them. He was working with time now and he did not want any errors. But he was glad.
Glad about the smart woman beside him that seemed to have an arsenal full of responses at her beck and call.
"You did well." He said to her,
She was not crying anymore. Martha felt peaceful at this point and was looking at the road ahead of them as she replayed the scene of what had transpired in her head over and over again.
"Sorry?" She asked him.
"I meant back there. You suddenly came up with an answer that had him hooked. You did great." Julio said to her.
"I mean, that's the least I could do for us, right? We're practically partners in crime." She said suggestively as her wide eyes glanced his way.
Julio was quiet for a while as he thought about it. She was a big part of his assignment and somehow, he knew she was right. They were partners indeed.
