Seated round a bonfire, cheerful chatter could be heard from every corner. Men and women are getting to know each other or catching up after a long time. When the main event of the evening began, everyone with their lanterns began singing and dancing.
But Edith could only watch from atop a tree.
Although everyone seemed very friendly and she would have loved to join them, she couldn't bring herself to do so. Edith would have appreciated it a lot more, but her mood was already ruined, and sour and getting it back was a tough call. So, she sat there, her mind occupied, the thoughts of what had become of the people and grew with was not something she could easily shrug off.
