"Why do you think so?" Shantel asked with a slight frown. "Is there something you're not telling me?"


"Nothing. Just that it would complicate things between us— not that I'm ready to give up—of the one he has is the one for the groom.


"Don't tell me you haven't realized the implication of a paired piece of jewelry in the hands of two prestigious families.


"How do you know my family is pres… oh, forget it," she waved dismissively. She had forgotten to ask her people to tighten up all the infos about her father's family.
