Chapter 107 - Chapter 14: Obadiah's Miscalculation

Obadiah Stane, the founder of Stark Industries, once worked with Howard Stark Sr. to create the world's most prestigious weapons manufacturing company.

Of course, Stark Group does not only make money from weapons, it also produces a variety of other civilian products. But there is no doubt that what else in the world can make more money than arms?

People always spend a lot of US dollars to buy various weapons for some boring little things, and then raise their knives to kill their own kind.

Especially after the death of Howard Stark, Obadiah once controlled this super group, which was truly the most wonderful time in his life.

Even when he thinks back on it today, Obadiah still feels nostalgic for those days.

However, among the beautiful memories, there are always some unpleasant things, such as the green boy, the conceited and playboy Tony Stark.

How Obadiah hoped that this guy would continue to play like crazy and squander until he spent all the shares of Stark Industries in his hands.

Only in this way can he truly take charge of the weapons empire. But Tony always disappoints people, he actually came back!

This guy who had never cared about his father's business actually came back, and under his leadership, the Stark Group was thriving.

In just over ten years, Stark Industries' stock price has increased fivefold, and their arms are sold all over the world.

This should be good news for them, at least good news for other shareholders, because they can get huge dividends every year.

But it was not a good thing for Obadiah. His importance in the group became lower and lower, although he still held the position of CEO firmly with his personal relationship with Tony.

But some people on the board have already said that he is old, he is out of date, and he should give up his power and retire like the other old men on the board.

Buy a luxury cruise ship, take some beautiful and sexy blonde girls to the Mediterranean to enjoy life. Just wait for the dividends to be paid every year.

For some this kind of life is heaven, but for Obadiah this kind of life is hell.

He couldn't imagine how difficult it would be to lose power. It would accelerate his aging and make him lose his vitality, and eventually turn him into a penniless old man, except for being very rich, of course.

So he planned a murder, and the target of the murder was Tony Stark. Power is always more important than family affection, even though Tony has always regarded him as his uncle, he still decided to kill Tony.

Everything was planned carefully. Tony went to Afghanistan and fell into an ambush. A missile made by Stark Group hit his convoy.

Logically, everything should end at this moment, Tony should die, and he will become the real helmsman of this business empire.

Everything was so beautiful, but unfortunately this perfect plan was ruined by a group of idiots who foolishly wanted to control Tony Stark and asked for a higher price.

However, the final result was that Tony escaped, and he still doesn't know how Tony escaped from the cave in Afghanistan.

But what's even more infuriating is that these guys came to New York with great fanfare and announced that if he didn't pay, they would expose Mr. Obadiah's links to terrorist organizations.

Let his plot to assassinate Tony be exposed to everyone.

Now an angry Mr. Obadiah went to the place where these fools asked to meet, the docks in New Jersey.

He didn't come to negotiate, he came to kill all these idiots. He brought with him thirty fully armed mercenaries, all equipped with the best weapons of Stark Group.

At the New Jersey dock, Husano and two friends he invited were waiting for Obadiah to arrive in the cargo ship flying the Egyptian flag.

"It looks like this American is not punctual." A man with a shaved head like Husano and whose appearance was obviously more like that of Western China spoke up.

His name is Abdure, and he is from the same clan as Husano. Like Husano, he works for the Ten Rings Gang, but because of an adventure in his youth, his position in the gang is completely different from Husano's.

Next to him was a taciturn middle-aged man who also looked like. His name was Muradi, and he was also from the same tribe as Husano and also worked for the Ten Rings Gang.

"But aren't they here?" Husano pointed from a distance at the convoy moving towards the dock. The bright headlights were dazzling in the dark night.

"Mr. Obadiah, you'd better let your men wait outside." Husano waved his hand, and the men hiding on the boat pointed their weapons at the convoy.

"You guys stay here for now and find a chance to subdue these guys later." Obadiah instructed his mercenary captain, and then followed Husano and the other two to the captain's room of the freighter.

"Mr. Husano, I hope you have prepared enough cash or weapons of equal value to fulfill our agreement." Husano and his two companions sat at one end of the conference table in the captain's room, while Obadiah sat at the other end.

"Listen, you haven't completed your mission, and Tony Stark is still walking around happily in New York City." Obadiah lit a big cigar with a hint of impatience in his tone.

"And you haven't even told me why you let Tony run away. How can I give you the money?"

"I think we've already talked on the phone, Tony Stark. We will accomplish our mission objectives, and the Ten Rings Gang always keeps its word." Husano was negotiating with Obadiah.

The two helpers he invited were playing with their fingernails with little interest and talking in a Western dialect.

Abdure seemed to tell a joke that made the silent Muradi smile.

This made Obadiah feel a little angry, as he felt that he was being looked down upon, and by a group of stupid terrorists who had no wisdom at all.

What else can these people do besides making explosions and killing people? This made Obadiah want to end this conversation as soon as possible. It seemed that it would be a wise choice to recruit people to kill these guys.

"No, I can't believe you." Obadiah walked slowly towards the three people and said, "You have already failed once. Why should I put my hopes on an organization that has already failed?"

"Do you know what the biggest weakness of an organization like yours is?"

"Lack of skills, disrespect for science, and the absence of technology will always be your shortcomings." As Obadiah spoke, he secretly opened the small prop that had been hidden in his palm.

This is an infrasound transmitter. It's not very useful, but it can make a person unable to move for fifteen minutes.

Obadiah had protected himself before coming in. He pressed the switch and looked at the three people in front of him with satisfaction, who were unable to move.

Husano's expression showed some surprise and some fear, things were beyond his control.

Obadiah bowed his head and spoke softly. "Without science, you are nothing. Primitive people."

After saying that, he was ready to leave. It would be better to leave such dirty things as killing to the mercenaries. He didn't want his suit jacket worth thirty thousand dollars to be stained with blood.

Clap~Clap~Clap, the sound of applause suddenly rang out in the quiet room.

"Well said, American." The one who was clapping and speaking was Abdure, who was not frozen. "Your speech just now was very good."

"But you don't understand, there are some things that you can't solve with technology, if you call that ridiculous little thing in your hand technology." Abdure said with strong sarcasm in his tone.

Things are now out of Obadiah's control and he wants to escape. After all, one can easily imagine what the consequences of falling out with a group of terrorists will be.

But as soon as he took a step, his body could not move. It turned out that Muradi was not immobilized. He just patted Obadiah on the back lightly, which made the strong man unable to move.

"We are people who have seen what real technology is. The one we are fighting against is so powerful that you can't even imagine what the Americans are doing." Abdure's saliva sprayed onto Obadiah's face while he was talking. It was hard to tell whether he did it on purpose or not.

This made Obadiah feel very disgusted.

Muradi gently patted the immobilized Husano, and Husano, who had been unable to move due to the paralysis of his nerves by the infrasound, was able to move again.

"Abdure, is this the power you gained in Kunlun?" Husano asked eagerly.

"Kunlun? Ah~ I guess so, there is a part of it, like this brand." Abdure pointed to a tiger-head amulet hanging around his waist.

"But I learned most of the things from the adults. The people in Kunlun like to keep things to themselves. Don't expect to learn more from them. That's why I secretly took this souvenir and ran back."

"Husano, work hard. If you can return to your country one day, you may have the opportunity to learn the power you desire." Muradi said to Husano.

"Okay, I'll leave this American to you. I'm not interested in wasting time talking to an American." Abdure pushed Obadiah, and Obadiah, who was immobilized, fell directly to the ground.

"Then I think we can have a good talk now, Mr. Obadiah." Things are now back under Husano's control, and the corners of his mouth curled up unconsciously.

"Regarding the commission issue, I think the price needs to be raised because you need to pay an extra price for your actions just now."
