Chapter 110 - Chapter 109 My Pleasure

Chapter 109 My Pleasure

Gongsun Ze remained disoriented. Standing on the teleportation platform, he glanced around in bewilderment.

The towering tree canopy stretched like a vast sky over the space, majestic and surreal. Lowering his gaze, he saw the enormous dragon skull embedded in the center of the trunk—its jagged, skeletal form sending waves of terror through him. His legs trembled uncontrollably.

Yet what caught his eye was the woman seated on the throne beneath the skeletal dragon, her eyes closed. Her cloud-gray hair cascaded softly, and her star-patterned skirt draped elegantly around her. Her face was a mesmerizing blend of beauty and mystique.

"What in the world is this?" Gongsun Ze muttered, torn between fear and exhilaration. He swallowed hard and scanned the area, only to realize the Evil God Anubis had vanished.

"Lord Anubis?" he called out inwardly, but there was no response.

"Never mind," he grumbled, shifting his focus to Xia Feng beside the throne. A grin twisted his lips. "First, I'll deal with you, fool. Then this mysterious space will be mine!"

With that, he lunged toward the throne—

Thud!

The next instant, he spat blood and collapsed, his face contorted in terror as he scrambled backward.

Crawling back onto the teleportation platform, his eyes bled as he stared in horror. The woman in the starry skirt, her dragon tail coiled beneath her, remained seated with closed eyes. Nearby, Xia Feng had laid Mu Qingtong and the others on the ground, all leaning against the throne.

"What the hell is happening?!" Gongsun Ze seethed, his voice trembling. Within a ten-meter radius of the throne, an oppressive force field pulsed—far more terrifying than Anubis's aura.

A chilling realization struck him: had he hesitated even half a second longer, his skull would have shattered, reducing him to dust.

But why could those four enter? He glared furiously at Xia Feng.

The three women's spiritual senses, pressure, and weapons were sealed—essentially rendering them lifeless. He understood their passive state allowed entry, but how had Xia Feng managed it?

"Human child, did you bring too many guests?" A regal voice chuckled suddenly.

Gongsun Ze jerked his head up and spotted a black crow perched on a distant branch, its dark pupils gleaming.

"I'm in trouble," he muttered.

"Heh~ Not at all," the crow retorted, rolling its eyes. "You in the shadows—come out. Don't hide."

Silence.

"Hmm?" The crow's pupils narrowed, its tone turning icy. "I said come out. Are you deaf?"

Whoosh—

Space rippled as a massive figure emerged—ten meters tall, its body shrouded in black flames. Though humanoid in shape, its neck bore a lion's head with a single horn and eight blood-red eyes stacked in two rows beneath its forehead.

The Eight-Eyed Nightmare had ascended to godhood. Its mere presence unleashed a crushing pressure, stealing the breath from Xia Feng and Gongsun Ze.

"Lady Crow," Anubi bowed deeply, "I merely strayed into this world by accident. I bear no ill intent."

The black crow fixed its emerald-green vertical pupils on the giant. "Who are you?"

"Lady Crow, I am Anubi, the Eight-Eyed Evil," the giant replied with solemn reverence. "I attained divinity only a millennium ago. You may not recall, but ten thousand years past, you blinded one of my eyes."

"Oh? So you seek vengeance?"

"No, no—" The giant's eight eyes widened in unison as it bowed lower. "To lose an eye by your hand is an honor, my lady!"

Xia Feng: "..."

Gongsun Ze stared at the giant with a strange expression. He never expected Lord Anubis to be like this.

But then realization struck, and fear crept into his heart. If Lord Anubis couldn't defeat this black crow, wouldn't he die here?

Just as Xia Feng watched with amusement, the urgent voice of the black crow suddenly echoed in his mind: "I can't keep this act up. Find a way to get this stupid lion out of here."

"????" Xia Feng stared blankly at the crow perched on the branch.

The black crow's vertical pupils remained cold and regal as it gazed down at the giant.

"Damn it!" Xia Feng nearly cursed aloud. He whispered mentally, "Didn't you gouge out one of his eyes? You can't beat him?"

"Nonsense, I told you that was ten thousand years ago~" Yu Jieyin huffed indignantly. "Besides, if I could beat him, why would I let a little brat like you boss me around all the time?"

Good grief—so you really are useless! Xia Feng sighed inwardly and instinctively glanced at the Evil Dragon Lady beside him.

"But it's not a big deal, really."

The crow's voice chimed in again, "Even if he figures it out, he can't do anything. This is a sealed space. He can't kill me. Well, at worst, you might never leave~ Because the moment you step out, he'll slaughter you~"

The crow paused, then perked up. "Huh? Actually, that doesn't sound bad. You could just feast on the evil energy here every day!"

"..."

Xia Feng rolled his eyes. "Damn crow, you're as unreliable as ever. Good thing I've got a backup plan!"

"Backup plan?"

The crow blinked, then seemed to remember something. "You're planning to wake Lady Di Si? Did you get the Summoning Wood?"

"Of course not."

"Then what's your plan?" The crow scoffed.

Xia Feng's gaze shifted to the distant teleportation array, his dark pupils narrowing slightly as he silently counted the seconds. The summoning... should happen any moment now.

"Lord Crow God?" The giant tilted its head, its eight eyes flickering with confusion. The black crow had remained silent for too long, its vertical pupils seemingly lost in thought.

But what question required this much pondering? Suspicion crept into the giant's mind.

There was no divine aura radiating from the crow. That could be intentional concealment—but the Crow God was never one for subtlety.

Only one possibility remained: the crow was powerless!

Anubis's eight pupils gleamed as realization dawned. His tone shifted from reverence to mocking amusement. "I see."

He straightened, his massive frame towering as he sneered, "I almost fell for your bluff, Crow God. You lost your divinity long ago, didn't you?"

"..."

The black crow's vertical pupils flickered. With a sudden flap of its wings, its small form vanished—only to reappear an instant later perched atop Xia Feng's head, its talons digging into his shoulder.

It lifted its beak haughtily, its gaze icy. "Oh? Want revenge? Come in here if you dare."

Xia Feng: "..."

The sudden shift in the situation thrilled Gongsun Ze. So the crow was faking it all along!

He turned eagerly to the giant. "Lord Anubis, is there a way to kill them?"

"We can't touch this crow," the giant rumbled, its eight eyes sliding dismissively toward Xia Feng. "But this ant can't hide in the Dragon God's domain forever. We'll just wait for him to crawl out."

Xia Feng felt the weight of that malice like a blade at his throat.

Then—

The space twisted violently.

An invisible hum reverberated, followed by a sacred, crystalline hymn that washed over the world.

Anubis's eight pupils sharpened. "The summoned spirits... They've breached this space too?"

His gaze snapped to the throne. The Dragon God's eyelids trembled at the song—as if on the verge of awakening—before settling back into stillness.
