"Grandma,"
Calvin rubbed his temples, a wry smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
"I haven't slept in a day and two nights because of work," he drawled, his voice laced with exhaustion and a hint of complaint.
"You show no sympathy for me, and now you're even trying to introduce my girlfriend to other men in the Calvin family?
Am I really your biological grandson?"
"You brought this on yourself," Grandma Calvin retorted, shooting him a look that was equal parts exasperation and concern.
"Health is the foundation of everything.
No matter how urgent things are, you should still take time to rest."
Her brows furrowed, though her tone softened.
"If you won't take care of yourself, or spare a thought for this old woman, at least think of Fanny.
She barely slept these past two nights waiting for you."
"Fanny waited for me?"
Calvin's gaze instinctively flickered toward the upstairs hallway.
