The door slammed shut on my face, I walked towards it, then pressed my back against it, sighing.
My chest heaved. The apartment was dead silent except maybe my heartbeat
A moment ago, I had Madeline beneath me, breathless and vulnerable, and now she was stolen, out shopping with my mother.
Wearing my hoodie.
I groaned and slid down to the floor, burying my face in my hands.
''What the fuck just happened?'' I cursed out loud.
Madeline. Half-naked. On my bed. Telling me she wanted me.
And then Lilith Fernandes, my beautiful mother crashed straight through what was meant to be the best moment of my life.
I tilted my head back against the door, staring at the ceiling, my feelings rushing in like a gust of warm wind.
I ran both hands through my hair, still slightly damp from the cold sweat of panic. The image of Madeline, eyes heavy with need, lips swollen, played like a video on loop.
I groaned again.
This was hell. I bet this was what hell felt like.
