What the hell just happened?
Selene's inner voice screamed at her.
She, too, had no answer to that question. One minute, she was finally getting a taste of Nikolas' lips, the same ones she had been craving from the moment he had kissed her at the airport, and the next, he was pulling away like nothing had happened.
"What kind of sick joke is he playing?" Selene muttered under her breath angrily.
She inhaled sharply, dragging her hands through her hair, letting her fingers graze the places where he had placed his hand just few minutes ago.
Her eyes slipped shut, her mind drifting back as images of their bodies moving together in perfect sync that night played like a movie in her head.
She could still feel his hand slipping into her hair, pulling gently. She could feel his lips trailing soft patterns on her neck.
She exhaled deeply. She could still smell the lingering scent of his cologne in the air … or was her mind just tormenting her?
Her head spinning with thoughts.
