A few months ago, Ella worshipped him yet suddenly she changed her entire attitude.
At first, he thought she was playing hard to get but now, there was a prickling feeling in his chest. And an unsettling ache that he tried to avoid but it seemed to linger there with vengeance.
As she laughed, she seemed to be glowing in a soft and vibrant hue. She did not seem depressed or pessimistic as she used to be.
And she had probably shed some weight again as her features were sharper, more striking, reminding him of how beautiful she was at her peak.
And a hint of a grievance curled in his chest.
Ella finally stopped laughing and met his gaze, "Are you feeling wronged now?"
Max frowned.
"Or do you probably think I am being unreasonable?" Ella sighed.
"I wasted my entire youth on you and you don't even know that roses have never been my favorite flowers. And I love eating sweet things."
