Derrick's POV
I pulled away from the kiss a minute later, staring into his eyes, faintly recalling the look on his face when he assumed there was another reason why I had come here.
Honestly, I didn't know what had come over me. This was not how I intended our conversation or relationship to progress.
What I felt when he said those words was strange. It was as if all he wanted to do was run away from me. But I didn't want him to leave.
"I know you wanted to leave me, but you will never leave me," I said breathlessly.
Nathan didn't give me the chance to whine or dwell in unnecessary drama.
"Stop talking." He suddenly grabbed my shirt and yanked me forward, his mouth crashing against mine in a bruising kiss.
I responded instinctively, parting my lips and taking his tongue into my mouth.
A sharp pressure on my lower lip made me groan. I pulled away, tasting the familiar tang of iron.
He'd bitten me. Hard enough to draw blood.
