Chapter 78 - 78

Compared to Hogwarts Castle, Dana preferred the Forbidden Forest a bit more.

He felt more at ease here—even the air was sweet.

Without a second thought, he plunged into the forest. Before finding Merlin's true secret treasure, he wanted to find a unicorn or a hippogriff first.

This would depend on luck.

Dana stepped on years of decaying leaves, a soft and rotten sensation underfoot. It had rained a couple of days ago, so walking on the ground wasn't exactly comfortable.

The deeper he went, the more fitting the Forbidden Forest's original name, "Dark Forest," seemed.

Sunlight had extreme difficulty penetrating the forest; everywhere was the smell of decay and dampness.

Suddenly, a small black shadow leaped out from the shadows in the bushes, swiftly darting towards Dana's neck.

Dana, with quick eyes and hands, reached out and caught the little thing—it wasn't slow, but compared to the Golden Snitch, there was no comparison.

Dana could catch the Golden Snitch with ease, so how could he fear this kind of furry little thing?

It was a Niffler. After being caught by Dana, it twisted its body desperately, making "squeak, squeak" sounds.

[Shiny! Golden!]

[Want, want, give them all to me!]

[Let me go!]

Dana held the Niffler up in front of him.

"You want golden things? If you can tell me where the unicorn is, I'll give you a golden one."

The Niffler obviously had limited intelligence, only repeating "golden," like a drug addict whose addiction had flared up, its mind filled with gold coins and nothing else.

Dana took out a Galleon—

"Tell me where the unicorn is, and this is yours!"

[Golden!!]

The Niffler struggled even more fiercely.

"If you don't tell me, I won't give it to you!"

[If you don't give it, then don't, I can steal it!]

Good heavens, this was the completely uncommunicative type! No wonder Newt Scamander was able to get the Niffler to do so many things!

Dana put the Galleon back and threw the Niffler on the ground.

"If you don't take me to find the unicorn, there will be no golden things."

He took the Galleon out again.

"Take me to find the unicorn, and there are plenty of golden things!"

Perhaps Dana's action of putting away the Galleon had briefly restored the Niffler's sanity. It restrained the urge to pounce and hug the Galleon, and with difficulty, it opened its mouth:

[There, there!]

Dana looked in the direction of the Niffler's front paws—there was a stretch of continuous bushes. As a human, if he had the choice, he definitely wouldn't go in that direction.

Dana threw the Galleon down. Before the coin could land, it was hugged by the Niffler, who leaped high and stuffed it into its pouch.

The Niffler rolled around on the ground contentedly. When it looked up again, it discovered that the two-legged creature who could talk to it was gone!

It only saw the back of a raven, disappearing into the forest.

Oh no, it had lost big because of a small gain! The Niffler was filled with regret—that two-legged creature was obviously very rich. If it could latch onto him, wouldn't it be able to be with golden and shiny things every day?

Ah! What a loss, what a loss.

Dana hadn't flown for long before he saw a small lake—or rather, a pond.

Compared to the dim environment, the group of unicorns lying down to rest, their bodies radiating a holy light, were so dazzling.

Dana, in raven form, approached the unicorns, transformed back into human form, and landed on the ground.

His appearance startled the unicorns, and they all stood up as if to run away.

"Don't rush to run. I am Merlin's heir, asking you for directions."

"Neigh, neigh, neigh!"

The strongest of the unicorns turned around and pointed its horn at Dana. Clearly, this fellow was the leader of the group.

[You say you are Merlin's heir, what's the proof?]

Dana shrugged.

"I can understand your words, isn't that proof enough?"

Dana casually summoned the Gates of Spandim.

"How about this?"

Dana turned into a blue light, suddenly entered the unicorn leader's body, controlled its body to walk a few steps, and then retreated, transforming into an even stronger unicorn in the air.

[You have offended me!]

The unicorn said unhappily.

[But you have proven that you are indeed Merlin's heir, Cambion cub. Come with me, I'll take you there—it's been thousands of years, finally someone has come. When my father passed it on to me, I thought it was just a story!]

Snakes have snake paths, rats have rat paths.

Unicorns naturally have unicorn paths.

Dana, in unicorn form, followed behind the unicorn leader, galloping towards the depths of the Forbidden Forest.

The speed of the unicorns wasn't slow, but they still walked for half an hour before stopping.

This was an area that even Hagrid had never set foot in. A swamp with an unpleasant color blocked most people, and the dense canopy also blocked the sight of wizards riding flying broomsticks—in fact, no one would ride a broomstick to this dangerous and worthless place.

If it were a hundred years ago, perhaps there would still be Ashwinder gangs poaching here, but now…

[It's here, Cambion cub, my mission is complete!]

The unicorn leader turned and left, leaving Dana alone here.

Dana didn't need to think—he walked straight towards a tree hole, because on the rubble outside the tree hole, there were magical traces exactly the same as on the tapestry.

The tree hole was about one meter square. Not to mention that Dana was still a child, even most adults could easily enter.

Besides, Dana's self-transformation was unique in the current wizarding world. He could enter even the smallest crack, let alone a tree hole?

At the moment of entering the tree hole, Dana felt like he had fallen into water. Like last time in Merlin's vault, a sense of weightlessness came over him, his eyes blurred, and he was on solid ground.

This was a small room. The walls, pillars, floor, and ceiling were all alive. Trunks and vines made up the room, and the shape was extremely irregular.

In the center of the room was a non-gold, non-jade platform, emitting a magical glow. On the platform were three books—

"War Magic", "Natural Magic", "How to Bring the Dead Back to the Living".

Dana's eyes widened as if they were about to tear apart his eye sockets.

—How to Bring the Dead Back to the Living?

Obviously, War Magic and Natural Magic were both very powerful schools of magic, but only the method of bringing back the dead was the most exciting to Dana!

He took a deep breath and put the three books into his necklace.

He didn't forget his purpose—the magic source of the New City Magic Array.

This secret treasure had another layer! Because when he put away the books, a wooden door suddenly appeared on one wall.

Dana walked over and pushed the wooden door.

With a push, the wooden door didn't move at all, but the next moment, Dana felt a warm current enter his body from the wooden door, circle in his body, and return to the wooden door.

The next moment, a row of embossed characters appeared on the wooden door—

[Bloodline Awakening Level Reached, Permission to Enter the Second Layer.]

The wooden door opened by itself—

"Creak, creak…"

A surge of powerful magic rushed towards him. The concentration of that magic was several times higher than Hogwarts'!
