Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Make it in time

Time: 10:35 pm

How are your Boards going?

Tomorrow, free ante, I'll come.

My dad isn't at home either.

Right, I have physics tomorrow.

I'll come.

Don't want them to go yapping.

At what time?

.

.

Eh?

7 pm.

TYPING PATIENCE PLS!

I just thought,

You suddenly became blind.

And now that I'm talking to you,

I think I miss you.

Think about it, okay, bro.

What? At least I tell.

I miss you too smh.

WHY ELSE DO YOU THINK I CAME TWICE ON THE SAME DAY, LADY??

Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh.

No shit.

Okay, when can we meet then?

I won't be free this entire week during the day.

And I have a fest, so I'll be coming home late too.

Right, then I'll come tomorrow.

Now I gotta bathe then.

I need those free hugs.

Yes duh. Shower and come, and I'll give an endless number of free hugs.

You'd have even if I didn't.

But still, I'll bathe.

Yes, true, but still shower tyvm.

---

Huh, phew, I gotta know. I'm already so excited to meet her. Yeah, more excited than nervous for boards. I mean, of course, why not?

After all, I haven't seen her for like 15 days or something, though she lives just above me.

Fine, since she asked me to study, I'll study.

Time: 11:50 am

Why the hell were there so many questions to write?

So tiring! Wanna just go home and laze around.

But I gotta agree this was probably the best exam in this set.

All thanks to that girlie who lifted my mood~

Can't wait to go home!

Time: 12:10 pm

Dad surprisingly came early to pick me up today as well.

He usually made me wait half an hour.

Guess I'm going home early then?

I finally feel like studying more. I don't want to lose this feeling.

I'll study, bathe, and then, hehe.

Guess not.

The route's different. I'm not quite familiar with it, but I have an idea where we are going.

Yep! Dad just told me we are stopping by Grandma's.

She's sick, so it's like a "get well soon" visit.

Not like I'm going to do anything there.

Maybe play along, then have a quick chat with my cousin?

I hope she's home...

Time: 12:45 pm

I've had a rendezvous with grandma. And just when we were about to leave, I asked my dad if I could chat for a while with my cousin.

He replied with a tinge of anger that I could've told him before he got up to leave. Indeed, I wasn't thoughtful.

Then upstairs, I was waiting for my cousin. Where was she?

Well, she's my sister after all, just like me, with the same habit of sitting behind closed doors. Not that I have a problem. But looked like her mom had a huge problem with it.

She came in a short while and we talked ideally.

She's currently going to write 10th boards, which are after mine end.

And after boards, she'll be joining the same junior college as mine.

Though I won't be in there anymore.

And that college is shit, legit prison.

But we don't have much of a choice. We choose the least bad, you know.

I wanted to meet her and know how much she had changed. It's been a couple of months since we last met.

Though we recently connected online, I felt like she had changed a lot. So I was curious about her in-person personality.

Thankfully, it wasn't a drastic change, unlike her online personality. I like her better as a pessimist and self-critic.

Cause that's who she was all this time.

After the quick chat, Dad called me back down.

He wasn't angry this time but showed signs of haste.

"We need to hurry, I have a class to take at 2."

I immediately complied, and there we left on our way back home.

On my way, Dad drove past my old school and my cousin's present school.

It was under construction. Well, now that I look at it, it's pretty giant for a school.

There were students in a familiar uniform around. I searched for familiar faces but sadly found none.

I wanted to wave a high to my juniors. Next time maybe!

Next, we stopped by to buy a few fruits, of which one was a guava. It's not a fruit I'm a fan of, but I love it when it's cut into four pieces and applied to the special masala of which only guava sellers hold the patent.

Nothing tastes better than that!

Well, Dad usually offered me that masala guava. But this time, maybe he was in a hurry for the class and didn't want to wait anymore. I don't think it was too late, though.

There was still plenty of time left. But maybe Dad needs time to get the materials in place.

There's always the right time for things, so another time.

After we bought them, we reached a red signal. And then the next signal was green, then turned yellow, and then shortly turned red.

Dad stopped abruptly as there was a fast-moving vehicle passing by.

He then felt my head lean over him as he waited for the signal to turn green again. He couldn't see my hand beside his face due to the helmet obstructing his vision.

Dad called me out and asked if I was sleeping.

Upon hearing no reply, he slightly turned left.

As he felt something drip on his thigh and...

Finally, I saw my hand through which the blood was dripping.

It was pierced by a construction rod.

He quickly got up, holding me with his right hand while he extended the stand.

I didn't get to have a good look, but he instantly broke out in a cold sweat.

Upon a second look, while holding me carefully, there were a total of five rods pierced into my body.

Though only two pierced through all the way.

Turns out the abrupt turn of a mini truck carrying the construction rods resulted in this situation.

Of course, there was a commotion around, and my dad was trying his best, calling out my name repeatedly to make sure I didn't lose consciousness.

With half of my consciousness left, I spoke slowly but just audible enough for my dad to hear,

"You'll be late for the class."

A second after I finished the sentence, everything turned silent,

My body was burning up like it was on fire and gradually...

Everyone faded, leaving only darkness at the end.

Time: 1:18 pm

What was my name again?
