That Friday, I went on my date with Sebastian just like we'd planned with one little twist.
This time, I didn't want him waiting for me at the door, making small talk with my mom, turning on the charm like he always does. I was already in the living room when I spotted his car pulling into the driveway. Without waiting, I slipped on my heels, grabbed my purse, and opened the door to meet him outside.
He stepped out of the car just as I approached, his smile as effortless as ever. Halfway toward me, he took my hand, pressed a soft kiss to it, and then pulled me into a warm hug.
"You look amazing," he said, eyes full of admiration.
"Thank you," I replied, smiling as I looked up at him.
He really was handsome. Tall, well-dressed, smelled like expensive cologne and confident. I caught myself thinking, I think I could fall in love with him.
"Is your mom around?" he asked casually.
"Yes... why?" I asked, eyeing him suspiciously.
